Yes, Kimmy, I am doing great. I went to my first post op appt yesterday. I have lost 28 pounds. That is the preop diet and the two weeks after surgery. Dr. Katsis said it was "excessive". Lol......He said I needed to eat more. I have NEVER been told that in my life. I can't eat any more, that's all I can hold. How are things going with you? Good, I hope. I was going to go to Mexico if my insurance denied me. But, thankfully I didn't have to. I had surgery at Bailey's on 2/21. I feel so blessed to have been able to stay here. Good luck to everyone....

Sleeved 2/21 and down about 25 pounds. But, that is 15 pre-op and 10 post-op. I haven't done any exercise. I go this afternoon for my 2 week post op appointment with my doctor. I guess I will find out then what I can do exercise wise. I too have trouble with protein. I cannot do the shakes. I get my protein through eggs, peanut butter, yogurt. I have tried all the different protein shakes. Makes me want to vomit just thinking about them. Kudos to the sleevers that can drink them. Good luck to everyone!!

Everything is going good. Can't do the protein shakes. They are so nasty and make me feel so sick. I think I will just have to get my protein from food. Other than that I am doing great. Thanks for asking and good luck to you. Please keep me posted on your progress!

Everything is good. I really had zero pain after surgery. Just sore, but not pain. I didn't fill the prescription for pain meds. It took me about 3 nights before I would sleep in bed. I slept in the recliner. Now, everything is just normal. They will have you wear a binder of 2 weeks. I really supports your stomach and makes it feel better. Which surgeon do you have? I had Katsis. He is really great. Are you finished with all your testing?

You're right d. Every surgeon does something different. You would think there would be more standard diets. Good luck with your surgery!!

How many days have you been on the preop diet, oknewme? It is rough. But, after about the third day, it gets better. I am 10 days postop. Can't wait to get to the soft diet this Thursday. I am ready for an egg and tuna. Never thought I would say that. Lol.........Hang in there. Do you have all of your preop testing finished?

That's good Megs! My machine and I are not the best of friends. For some reason, we just don't work well together. Lol.....

I had my chest xray and pft and ekg all done the same day over at the hospital. I think everyone flunks the sleep study. What I understood was that they set the limits so low on the study that everyone has sleep apnea for insurance approval. I didn't pass it either. You will get your machine, use it for 2 weeks, then you will take the card out the back of the machine in for them to get a print out of it. Just make sure you use it at least 4 hours a night for the 2 weeks. That's all they require before your surgery. You'll be fine. When are you wanting to have your surgery, Mollie?

Mine was approved with UHC in about 4 days. It went through the first time. As along as you meet the requirements for your insurance and your surgeons office has all their paper work in order, you will hear soon. Good luck to you. I am now 7 days post op.

Good luck Kimmie! I had surgery at Bailey this past Thursday. Everyone with that group is fantastic. All the office staff, doctors, nurses, and Dr. Katsis and great. There would probably be some things they should work on. But, all in all, it was a good experience. If you can call any surgery a good experience. Lol......If you need to know something just ask. I will try to answer. Again, congrats!!

I cannot tolerate the protein shakes. Everytime I drink some get so nauseated. I dont know if I am lactose intolerant or what. So, I am not getting much in. I have emailed my dietician, but have not heard back. I had surgery this past Thursday. Has anyone eaten a boiled egg smashed up real good this soon after surgery. I would get more protein with that by far than I get with the shakes. Any advice would be appreciated......

I was to start protein on my 4th day. I just can't.

I had surgery this past thursday. How long before you get some energy back? I feel pretty weak today. Pain has not been an issue. I dont like the lifeless feel.
