Banded on 5th June with Hosptial Group @ Bromsgrove

I found the hospital group to be ok once you haveyour operation it's as though they get you out the door as quick as possible but the hospital group phone you a few days later and then some one else will call for your first fill and that's when you get to speak to the nutritionist at the clinic but you can phone them and ask asana questions as you need (which I did several times). -

Hi good luck hope all goes well I've not lost much weight over the past 2 weeks as I don't have much restriction yet I'm hoping when I get my next fill (which is next week) this will help with my portion size and I'm also starting back the gym this week. Let us know how you get on -

-
Should I still be this sore?

Thanks for all the advice. I have spoken to the nurse today who has advised me not to go to gym for 6 weeks so my body can have time to heal so I will just have to have some patience
-
Can anyone advise when I can go back to the gym I had my surgery 17 days ago and need something to focus on.
-
Help Most times when I eat I get a pain in my back is this normal or should I speak to my nurse its been two and a half weeks since my op.
-
Good luck you can do it. It's hard enough giving up smoking and it will be even harder losing weight and giving up smoking. I stopped smoking 12 years ago and have never looked back I now hate it and think its disgusting I just wish I could do the same with food the only problem with that is you need food to survive. Best wishes I've got my fingers crossed for you

Hi it's only been 2 weeks since my op and I'm now hungry all the time and I've been craving chocolate like mad so I've had a few milky ways I know this is not good what can I do. Drinking water is not an option as I hate water I feel as though I'm going down the slippery slope again.
-
No I try and stay away from the milky ways

Hi all thanks for the advice I have not went completely off the rails I am on mushy food for the next two weeks I'm sure I'm not the only one finding it tough and obviously it just takes a bit of time to adjust to this new way of eating I have paid a lot of money for this band so I am not going to fail I am just finding it hard I suppose I thought I just wouldn't feel as hungry and all my cravings would disappear which I know realistically that's not going to happen I do drink flavoured water and juice most of the day and my first fill is in two weeks time and I will have a word with the dietician also that day so that she can give me the correct advice so that I am not eating the wrong things. Thanks again

-
Hi It's so good to hear other people in the same situation My pain subsided a little but now I have the sicky feeling honestly getting fed up now I just want to feel normal and stop moaning
-
Am I supposed to be able to eat a bowl of Soup? My friend seems to think I should only be able to eat a few spoons and then be full I am confused it will be a week tomorrow since my surgery
-
Thank you all so much it's so good to hear you are not alone with this pain. I eventually called the doc and she has given me more pain killers which have helped a bit.

My op was last Wednesday and I seemed to be fine but just the past couple of days the pain in my shoulder is so unbearable I have tried windeze, peppermint tea and gripe water with no relief from any of these and I have been walking about quite a fair bit too.
