My surgical assistance told be to take Gas pills to help dissolve the gas and I think it worked. I had my gall bladder out laporscopically in 2001 and had those gas pains, I swear for 2 weeks, but taking the gas pills with this surgery I swear it was only a day or two. I even took ones from the Dollar Store, just like Gas X. How are your feeling now? 1 week out?

Two week liquid diet before you go back to the doctor? Should drop about 10-15 lbs. I'd still make the physician aware of the problem.

I had my surgery November 7, 2012 and I was not required to follow a pre-surgical liquid diet. Just the day of surgery and for a week after then slowly advanced my diet. my surgery went by with out any complications and I healed rather quickly.

OK so everything is set for tomorrow. I go first thing in the morning to get my first fill. I am so scared and nervous thinking about it. Luckily I was really busy at the beginning of this week I didn't even have time to think about it, but now its all I can think about!!

Doc found out that I have insurance at least for one more month. So not an issue yet!! Not sure about what follows!!

Well, my Fill got resceduled... the fluroscopy machine broke and won't be fixed in time for my appointment tomorrow. So now I have to wait another week. O yay!! and To top it off I am not sure if I still have insurance so now I may have had this surgery all for nothing!!

So do they use lidocaine shots or that freezy stuff? All he said was he will numb the area. When I had the surgery they used the freezy stuff to do my IV but I think it hurt more cause it constricted the vein. I've had the freezy stuff for a steroid shot in my shoulder and it was awesome!! I am probably making this out to be worse than it is, but the unknown scares the hell out of me. Thanks Everyone for the words of encouragement!!

Thanks!! I knew this wouldn't be instantaneous, but it feels like it is taking forever to get going. Question... when you get the fill, can you feel it? Like does your stomach feel weird or crampy? I am getting so nervous about it!!

I just got my band done 6 days ago. It's been quite an adjustment. I hate this liquid diet. I feel like I am starving!!

So far this has been very slow going. I go December 21st to schedule my first adjustment. I am getting very nervous. Its almost been 5 weeks since surgery and I have been able to eat pretty normal now and I know that is all going to change once I have the adjustment. I haven't lost any more weight, but I haven't gained either.

I had my post-op on Friday and spoke with the nutrionist. Feeling a little better about things and they have advanced my diet. So things are better.

I keep telling myself to be the good patient!! But it is so hard when the rest of the family is eating these yummy meals and my stomache is grumbling in hunger. I gave in last night and made a little bit of soft scrambled eggs and only ate three tiny fork fulls. It helped the stomach settle and i felt soo much better. I'm gonna keep it light real light and real small. But just liquids, only water and juice just isn't cutting it. They told me no shakes or milk?? I dunno why? I could settle for a carnation shake or two a day.
