I am 5ml in a 10ml band and dont feel any differant at all. I was banded in November and was fine for the first 6 weeks and then the hunger came back once the swelling went down.....

You almost died????? I thought you were keeping down liquids?? Are you ok now ?

I am just starting my journey with my new lap band! I am 11 days post op still on liquids and feeling hopeful and I know there are alot of us just starting out. My question to all you seasoned bandits is – if you could only give ONE piece of advice to a new bandit what would it be? What was the main thing that helped you along the way? I appreciate all your replies

Sorry you are struggling. I was banded the 15th so we are at similar points. I would call your Dr and chat to them just to put your mind at ease. I would get right back on track asap. You can do it.

1. Lose 7 pounds 2. Get back to working out after being banded. 3. Enjoy the holidays with family and friends and be healthy.

Thanks for all the advice! I have my NUT and first fill appointment booked for December. The reminder that this is a tool and it comes down to me to make the right choices is a good one. I think I may need something to remind me of that on my keys or something.... FLORIDAYS - I am going to start tracking at mushies stage on myfitnesspal. Think it will help me....I admire your attitude.

I did on the pre-op diet, spinning, personal training and running. I normally drank a protein shake in the morning and then headed to the gym. I have a heart rate monitor and normally burnt between 500 and 800 calories. I was fine but I had been working out 5 days a week for a few years......now I am banded I am on a four week break so looking forward to getting back to the gym but also enjoying the rest! Good luck on the pre-op diet. I really liked the disassociation I have with food going from an obsessive what do I eat to a non interest. Once you get started it is fine x

I don't mind at all... Have had my band a week so I have limited info but I can't try and answer your questions..... Did you have a lot to loose I am hoping to loose 7-8 stone but ideally 9. I started at 17stone would like to get to 10stone but may try and lose more once I get there! Also how long did it take after consultation till u was banded? It is a two week pre-op diet but I started that before I met the surgeon. Talk to Sally Price she is the consultant and has had the surgery. Ask wht dates are available. Have you experienced any pain after affects if so how bad? The first few days I had a little pain but not too bad. Now I feel fine but one of my incisions has an infection so I am on antibiotics. Otherwise I would be fine Does you have to inject your self for ten days after to avoid clotting? No..... And also what sort of price am I looking at 4995gbp xx

I would go for the meeting ASAP to get advice from the surgeon. I also noticed they do financing I think???? Check the website...

I was banded last week at The Hospital Group - Dolan Park they were excellent do more bands than anyone in the UK I think. I was self pay too. Check out a forum gastric surgery friends all mostly uk banders..... Good luck
