Green Zone - 8.2cc in my 10cc band Ideas?
toritz replied to toritz's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thanks for your replies! I have been having this maybe I am crazy and in the green zone and don't know it feeling. I will keep tweaking up my last fill was 0.2cc so I will work on slowly getting there. Its good to know some people are high on the fill level too. catfish87 thanks for the good advice - I need this band to help with my portions just a little if it can. hazelsbliss I eat around 1200 calories a day and work off around 500. I have tried to up my calories but I gain weight - I know the math does not work out and I should loose but I think I am one of those people that really does not need too many calories..... either that or someone is playing a trick on me! I was 275 and now I am 188 so I have lost a lot of weight already. I just soooo want to finish this journey off. -
Every. Single. Day! for lunch and sometimes at dinner too. I love them No issues for me.

Substitute for Pizza? Mac and Cheese?
toritz replied to Karina150's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
For a treat I make pita pizza one small pita loaded with roasted veggies, marinara sauce and I add cheese and some Protein. It’s not the highest protein meal so I don’t have it all the time but when the craving hits it helps. I do make cauliflower and broccoli bake with a cheese sauce baked in the oven occasionally too - that may help with the mac and cheese? I found my taste buds have changed now and I tend to crave other foods now… Good luck! -
Losing motivation
toritz replied to ireallywannabthin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Jen - I have worked out over 8 hours at the gym so far this week spinning, running, pump etc etc and eaten my cup of food three times a day and I have not lost either. Sometimes sh*t happens. No way I am giving up. NO WAY! Keep smiling -

Hi Jennifer, I think you have been on this board enough in the last few months to know this time is for healing. You must be just on solid food now? You know what - you have the band now it’s in. Your journey is just beginning AND you are 23 pounds down. I bet you feel better already? You know about bandster hell, eating the right amount and working out but I think you need to work on your head game a little and realize this is a journey and you are in it for the long haul. Follow the rules you WILL lose but at your own pace. I am a slow looser always have been even with working out like crazy. Settle in for the ride - enjoy it! I am having fun working it all out -
It takes time to get the right fill I am still working on it BUT it does start to kick in!!! I have really started to notice . I was super excited when I started to get closer to the green zone. Keep positive and I agree slow and steady weight loss is optimal. Good luck x

I was banded the 15th November started 242 now 210 and I am 30. I have 6.4 in my 10ml band but workout 5 days a week for at least 90mins I think that is helping. Until I got my fill up to 6ml I didn't even feel I had the band and that fill seemed to take two weeks to start working for me. Everyone is so different I was at 5ml in December and put on 8 pounds!!! The weight loss started kicking in in January for me but it is taking a lot of work!!!! Not easy at all . Good luck. Are you feeling the band at all yet?

Exercise - anyone eat their extra calories?
toritz replied to rcaruthie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I dont eat them back, I am eating around 1200 a day and burn between 400 and 800 5 days a week. I use a HRM (Polar Ft40) I am going on the basis that the extra calories I burn is fat. I am losing around 7 pounds a month so far.... -
looking good!!! Its amazing the differance
-
I agree with Terry - you are at the end of your weight loss journey but you help so many that are just starting out. As a newbie we take, take, take from the vets with all our questions BUT I hope one day to be able to pay that back when I have reached my goal and help the people that get banded next year. I do appreciate your posts – I even PM’ed you last week to say thank you so you know we appreciate what you do

Just a quick question I was banded in November never been stuck, PB'ed, or been sick. However a few times I have the feeling of something in my throat this time I ate sweet corn and I think it maybe the skin it's just sitting there bobbing up and down as I swallow. It's been a few days I can eat and drink without difficultly. Any ideas? Anyone else had this? Is this a stuck feeling? I have no pain it's just annoying. Thank you!!!
-
Thanks for our help but water didn't help! It's been days! Hoping it just goes down on its own soon. Feel like its trying to every time I swallow but it does not quite make it - I know weird. I will ask my doc office Monday.
-
Like the outside of sweetcorn the skin - sorry if I am not being clear! It happened once before with the skins of lentils guess they are hard to chew up? I know some people have issues with apple skins....... It just feels like its in my throat.....
-
Thanks! So not stuck but how do I get rid of this corn skin?? It's so odd.

Just need to vent- hard day
toritz replied to ireallywannabthin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Switch to a different liquid if your allowed? The last few days I was gagging on my protein shakes my body seemed to reject them. So I made really blended lentil soup and drunk smoothies. Switch something up maybe? -
I have been wondering about this as well. I was told the same as Summerrain that there is no pouch and each bite is squeezed through but I hear lots of people here talking about a pouch? Confused?

anyone here did/is doing the couch to 5k program?
toritz replied to Lapbandster's topic in Fitness & Exercise
I use "Ease into 5K" By Bluefin Software, LLC on my iphone I love it it works really well - you can play your own music and get the run/walk instructions as you listen to your playlist. -
I eat after - unless I have planned a long workout a couple of times a week I do a 2/3 hour session run/spin/yoga then I have a protien shake for I go.

toritz replied to Lapbandster's topic in Fitness & Exercise
P.s the first time I kept repeating weeks as I was worried I couldn't do it and wasted time and ended up giving up but as I said above stick to the program to the letter you will be running a 5k soon! That is my goal just to be able to get outside and run in the spring and summer -

I am! I am on week 6 and ran 20mins straight yesterday! I love the program. I completed it before and my advice is literally stick to the program you will get to he next week and think there is no way I can do this its too hard but your wrong you body can do it but your mind is stopping you. If you struggle slow down but just keep running. Also a heart rate monitor helps you to keep safe. Good luck
