The subject says it all! I began my journey on November 1st, and this morning was -50! I'm very excited, and feel like I'm on the right track!
-
Tomorrow I am 3 weeks post op, and getting to move onto mushie foods... Does anyone have any suggestions on different ideas? I know applesauce is okay... What about tuna? Mashed black Beans? Trying to think of some wood Protein ideas!

So today I started a 10 week winter yoga challenge! (Given, it's beginner yoga). I went to the first class tonight, and wow! I feel great after it! Does anyone else do yoga? What are your favorite exercises?

If anyone is interested in going out of town, I had my surgery in Lubbock at Swat Surgical with Dr Buschman. It was much cheaper than what y'all are saying, and they work to get your insurance to cover most of it. I didn't really have any health problems before, and I only had to pay 1400 out of pocket.

I just got my first fill today, and I'm on liquids for 2 days. It was interesting, didn't really hurt at the time, but is really sore now.
-
Who are you following on Pinterest to find these recipes? I've seen cupcake dinners, but want to make sure I follow the healthy ones!

Im having a hard time, too. I notice when I drink out of a straw I get more, even though I hear we're not supposed to have straws... But it does help. I do also drink decaf tea during the day. I don't know what to do either.

How do you know if you slip?
LizAndrews replied to LizAndrews's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh that's all great advice. I haven't thought it happened, but I'm always curious about things like that just to make sure. I think when I get my first fill I'm going to ask if we can do it where I can see, just to make sure everything is where it's supposed to be! -
What happens when you know you've eaten too much? How do you know if your band slips? Anybody been though that kind of stuff? I'm just at a month out, and it's hard learning how to eat, especially in a restaurant setting. Ugh.

Oh well no vomiting here... Yet! Sometimes there is some discomfort but I think it's because I've eaten too much. My first fill isn't until the 21st so I'm hoping I'm doing am good and on the right track! Down 25 pounds since surgery. Good luck to y'all! -
I'm just now 1 month post, so 4 weeks and 2 days... I've had that same plateau for about a week and a half, but this morning I weighed and dropped 2 more pounds! So hopefully I will continue to go down. Total I'm 24 pounds down, which includes pre-op. I was discouraged when I stayed the same for so long, but don't worry, it will go down.

Am I Doing Something Wrong Or Just Lucky?
LizAndrews replied to jrockwood's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded on the 7th, too! Considering the pre-op which started on the 1st I've lost 23 pounds... I feel like that's not very much compared to a lot of people on here, but I'm still happy with any type of loss! I'm on mushies, but some things more solid than others. I haven't had any problems yet. Try to bump yourself up to come chicken salad or tuna? Anything with that consistency that is high in Protein and low in fat/sugars. I also have an applesauce or blended veggies with my meals, and like 1 egg for breakfast. Maybe it will help you! Good luck!! -
First Follow Up And Weigh In!!!
LizAndrews replied to kkmonroe79's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's great! I was banded on 11/7 and since then and my per-op which started on the first, I've only lost 23 pounds... I wonder if I'm doing something wrong. -
What about extra sensitive skin? I went to the waxed yesterday, and whoa! I was way more sensitive then normal... The only thing different is the surgery. What do y'all think?

Questions About Foods To Eat/drink
LizAndrews replied to msmarylou's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I've done the bariatric advantage protein shaks, and they were pretty good. Lost 10 lbs in 6 days per op with those 3 times a day. -
Sounds good! I'll try it. I had scrambled eggs this morning with one whole egg and one with no yolk and it was great! My nutritionist said eggs would come at the next stage, but I don't know why I can't go ahead and have it now... So I did. Thanks for all the help!

My nutritionist mentioned doing a rotissery chicken in the blender, but I just thought that sounded so weird... Was it really good? I love avocado! I can eat them just plain, might be a good snack, to eat 1/2 of one? Cottage cheese is hard for me, but I might just have to push through it and swallow it. I bought some so ill have to try it again, I'm not wasting money on it! Lol How do you make your oatmeal? Do you put anything in it? I like the little packets that are different flavors, but she said I can't have those because of the sugar. Wow I'm getting hungry, just got out a salmon fillet to cook for lunch tomorrow. Yum! food again!

Oh great. I'm excited to not have soup anymore. Lol talk about boring! I'm going to stock up on tuna and canned chicken. What about scrambled eggs? I love them!

Is Soda Bad Once In A While?
LizAndrews replied to kittylove32's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That is the only caffeine I have is one cup of coffee in the morning. An sometimes not every day. Just wondering what the deal with it was. I don't feel so bad for having it now! -
Is Soda Bad Once In A While?
LizAndrews replied to kittylove32's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I understand about carbonation, but what is the big deal with caffeine? I always assumed they say no caffeine to everybody, but it was really meant for the people that had 10 Cokes a day. But what does it do to you? Why is it so bad? -
So tomorrow I will be 2 weeks post-op, and my husband has been pretty supportive, meaning this is the first time of going out to dinner. Of all places he picks a Japanese Steakhouse! I did good though, had some soup and edemame. I know I'm not supposed to have solids, but I was in need of protein ad decided if I chewed well it would be okay. What do you all do when you're inning this situation?

LizAndrews replied to jaereynoso's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
