So happy that things are looking up for you. It's your time now. Spring is here, the birds are singing..kinda puts pep in your step. Have a very happy Easter! -
You called her Wacko....Really? And you don't know why she thought you were rude?
-
I'm also with gwl...it was a no go. But like in the previous post, I've also claimed it on my income tax.
-
mindwing, you've gone through a lot to get where you are. You're a trooper! Best of luck, looks like you know exactly what you want.

I was banded in November, my band surgeon also did my gall bladder surgery 2 weeks ago. Band surgeons aren't always just band surgeons. Give him a call and check it out, you might be pleasantly surprised. Mine started out as a general surgeon then specialized in gastro, as well as lap band.
-
Right here, or at least close enough (peel region). Your picture sure brings back memories. How are you doing? I was banded in November 2012 and doing ok.
-
Ditto.

A little condescending, I get what you mean.

I used bagged spinach, I think it's just regular but it wouldn't matter. I don't trim the stems. I use 2 handfuls and the nutri bullet breaks it down. Then the Protein powder and Water...and the rest is up to you. Frozen fruit, fresh fruit, almonds, cashews, etc etc. and always 1 or 2 ice cubes.
-
I use a nutri bullet (has 600 watt motor...is amazing) 2 handfuls of spinach, protein powder, water, 2 ice cubes.....just like a milkshake, and you get the benefit and goodness of spinach without the taste. very good.

Ontario bandsters: Which clinic......?

Way to go! I would have to call him dr. Dreamy...his personality matches his looks, he's a nice nice man and very easy on the eyes. He just did my gall bladder operation 2weeks ago. His nursing staff is excellent , best of luck ( you won't need it though) . 2 weeks of protein shakes coming up, just grin and bear it and reach out if you need help/advise. -
Hi there, glad you're on the mend. I wouldn't say protein helps with the healing, but it will give you more energy. Right now it's almost one moment at a time, soon it will be a day at a time. I kid you not when I say once you've got a week under your belt you'll feel so much better. And things just keep getting better. Remember to keep yourself hydrated, and try to get some walking in even if it's to the end of your driveway and back. The fresh air will feel good. So, take it easy, rest, walk, sip and take your meds when needed. I was able to use Tylenol about the 3 or 4th day out and put the heavier pain meds away. Patience is what's needed right now, remember Rome wasn't built in a day.

Oh yes....yes yes yes. ! What a man, what a man, what a mighty fine man.

Hope you are doing well Contessa. 03/13/13. Sounds like a lucky day to me. The first few days are a little trying, but so worth it in the end. Keep us updated on how you're doing. Best wishes.

Having difficulty telling if I'm hungry
Tiny1234 replied to Frederic's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Same issue with me.. Head hunger vs real hunger. Sounds like it's a work in process. Wish there was an on/off switch. -
I agree with Debbie, take your meds regularly, don't wait for the pain to hit you, it may then be too late to cut it. It will get better, day 3 was my yuck day. Heating pad and meds were my best friend. Get a week under your belt and you will feel so much better. Easier said than done, i know. You will survive and one day when you find yourself running up the steps, or watching people turn their heads to watch you walk in a room..youre going to wonder what all this fuss was all about. This pain will be nothing more than a memory soon. Good luck!

I have to agree with laurigee. Good, bad and the ugly (and the occasional slap upside the head when deserved), you can bet you'll get the straight goods from CG. She's lived it, has been successful, what's not to listen to?

Where can I find colace, adult strength? I'm in peel region, found children's strength at Walmart but nothing for adults.

Autoimmune Disorders and the Lapband NOT Compatable
Tiny1234 replied to Baba Wawa's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Omg, why can't we all just get along? Why cant we all just rely on what OUR health professionals tell us about OUR own personal health issues. these forums seem to be more about "listen to me, I know everything" than offering advise and help to those that ask for it. Honestly I'm getting so sick of people writing in looking for acceptance or a pat on the back for screwing up after they've knowingly gone against what their dr has advised them to do time after time after time. Follow the rules, eat your protein first, go for a walk, keep in contact with your surgeon/ dr's office, it's not rocket science. Why did you get banded? Why are you not doing what you're supposed to be doing in order to be successful? Why are some people offering medical advise instead of telling that person to contact their dr? From the posts I've been reading lately there are a lot of people looking for validation. And when I read someone say there are no stupid questions, I have to disagree, I've read plenty of stupid questions, Where is your common sense. I've gotten off topic a bit, but bottom line is there are questions on here that should totally be directed to your own dr, you're only going to be more confused by reading so many different answers, especially when it concerns your own health.
