    My Nutritionist suggested using straws - she said you get less gas with the straws vs. drinking from a cup - go figure!

    Make sure the protein drinks you get are less than 5 grams of sugar. You need to shrink your liver so they can do your band

    yay, we can be band buddies! I saw the dietitian yesterday. I'm starting my pre op diet Monday since starting on Thanksgiving day would be awful. It will be hard not eating all this goodies, but so worth it! Plus, I will have lost that much more weight before surgery when are you starting your pre op diet?

    Hip, hip, hooray! I got my date, December 6. I'm so excited, I've been fighting with the insurance company for approval so long I was beginning to think it would never happen. So now just over three weeks away. I'm looking forward to taking this journey with the rest of you and keeping in touch along the way.
  7. For me the Target brands of mix ins are amazing. They are way better than Crystal Light to me. Right now my favs are tangerine strawberry, cranberry cosmopolitan and lime margarita. Don't let the names put you off. They taste great! The lime margarita tastes like lime aide. I was a diet coke junkie. We got free soda at work, so I never drank anything else. It took a few months, but now I don't think I could drink one. Good luck!

    Hi, I'm getting banded in December (I hope)!!! It took forever for the insurance approval, and as a result I missed my appointment with the nutritionist last month. Now she can't see me until December 3. Once I see her, I have to follow a two week pre op diet. So, for now I'm cutting out carbs and soda. No diet coke for the last month and it wasn't too bad. I have also started protein shakes. Try the dessert protein by BSN. I mix the chocolate fudge with a soon of sugar free international instant coffee then blend with water and a little unsweetened almond milk. It is so good! Kinda a cross between starbucks frappachino and wendy's frosty.
