looking for clothes
vanessa1215 replied to GmasDolly's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I will do $5 per pair of jeans and $2 per shirt plus shipping. I'm not looking to make huge profit off of this at all, just would like to help someone out while maybe getting enough to cover a new pair for myself (I need to see what all I have for sure and and get you some pics if you want) I am sure shipping won't be more than $12 (U.S.) as I'm an expert at "if it fits, it ships" haha! I am in Framingham MA. Where are you? If you want pics, send me a private message with your email and I will email you what I have tomorrow. Thanks! -
New Jersey... Duh lol I am in Massachusetts. Are you willing to ship? I would pay for shipping of course

is a little drainage from the incisions normal?
vanessa1215 replied to yaya9805's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Call your doctor right away. Your incisions should not be draining. Best wishes! -
Gas pains are typically in the shoulder area. Chest pain isn't something I experienced. Call the doctors office and let them know... They should have someone available to answer concerns 24/7 365!

BRA PROBLEM!!
vanessa1215 replied to SkinnyCubanChick's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Try wearing a strapless bra if the straps bother you.... If its not the straps, what about the bra is irritating you? -
For me, I was tired of being the "fat girl"! I had lost and gained with all the fad diets known to man! I would do good for a while then decide I could have "just one" cheese burger and then before I knew it I was binging. It's a vicious cycle and I can relate... food has an emotional connection for a lot of us and a lot of my fear was losing that comfort. It was my very first surgery (Nov 13, 2012) and I'm down 32 lbs! I an eat a "normal" plate of food and not go back for seconds! Best decision ever! I almost backed out while in the pre-op holding room, so glad I didn't back out!

Tummy tuck and breast left on Tuesday 12/18
vanessa1215 replied to FLORIDAYS's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Just curious... I read your doctor didn't place drains and I have read others who did have drains post op. What were the factors that played in this or does he never place drains on any patients? Hopefully he doesn't have to place a drain now... Although I'm sure you want to get the healing process done and over with here's hoping you heal without drains being placed! -
Do you feel sick all the time or after you eat? My husband is banded as well and the doc thinks his gallbladder is bad... He has some of the symptoms. Just let the doctor know what's up and he/she should know what needs to be done
-
Gas could be to blame! It's usually the ugly culprit of most of my aches and pains. I am a faithful gas x user and it keeps troubles away!
-
MsRhonda, the sickness is going around bad! I have been sick 4 days now... Flu symptoms Went to the doc today and got Tamiflu. Hope you feel better soon! Being sick stinks!

The waffle idea is genius! And delicious too for when you have a sweet tooth and don't want to blow your days calories

FYI Hungry Girl has some awesome recipes to try! Google it, you won't be disappointed!

I was banded Nov 13th and have dropped 32 lbs with no fill yet! I can tell with the way my band feels now, I wont be able to tolerate much fill at this point in my journey. I have yet to PB or get stuck but I have had the "warning signs" and that's enough for me to slow it down... I know when I eat too fast. 2cc's might be too much for a new bandster, but the responsibility of getting it fixed is on the person, it isn't the bands fault if you don't do all you can to eliminate complications. Best wishes and go see the doc. We didn't take this drastic of a step in our journey to fail without even trying.

My first fill is Jan. 2nd!!! I'm a bit nervous too

I wasn't able to lay flat for a week! Try sleeping in a recliner or on the couch. Gas x strips or chewable has tablets taken regularly help lots. Use a heating pad over your belly or where ever it hurts. Drink warm decafinated tea, this helpe me the most of all! Keep walking! This will pass soon and you will feel much better! Hang in there!

I have more luck with toasted bread than doughy bread... And I usually only have toast in the morning with some Peanut Butter on it for some Protein. Definitely talk to the doc... Do you have a fill in your band? Maybe a slight unfill will offer some relief? Also, not getting enough nutrients can, and most times will, stop weight loss as your body goes into starvation mode. Keep your head up and don't stop asking questions until you get answers! The band should be a lifestyle change you can live with comfortably, not a miserable life sentence! Best wishes to you!

Doc may have been right and now I dont want to face her
vanessa1215 replied to Rebecca Cain Salpacka's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Our bodies are finicky, some people even swear to have finicky bands maybe that tiny boy of full was too much at once this time around... I'm positive your doc has seen this before, don't be ashamed. Get back to the doc, follow up is the key to success! -
Call, email and call again... If the docs nutritionist won't get back to you, be sure and get ahold of the doctor! Bet you get a response then

I was an overnight stay as well... Didn't have my husband with me. Kind of glad, post op look wasn't all that flattering and walking around to try and fart is best done alone if possible ;p keep your head held high and count on those who ARE there for you! Best wishes for a successful surgery!
