I will be thinking of you when I am getting ready for my surgery! I will be home tomorrow night if the snow doesn't force us to get a hotel. I live about 50-55 miles from the hospital that the surgery is going to be at but we are due in for a big storm. You are in my prayers!

Oh Thank you! I will keep you posted! I will try to get on tomorrow night but I am not going to promise anything. We are due in for a bad storm tonight and into tomorrow so maybe by the time I get home I will just go to bed. Good night!

Hey Woofay! I will look for you tomorrow! Glad to hear that there is no snow down there yet. We have been watching the skies up here and no sign but we will check early in the am to see if we need to start out earlier. I am not a morning person at all so this will be my last posting before being banded. Yippee! You are in my prayers as well is Dynamo, Lapdancer and all those whose surgery is coming up next week! I plan on the rest and will try to walk as much as I can but we are due for a bad snow storm tomorrow as well as a again on Sunday to Monday... Could just walk in circles around my house huh? I hope that I am not so tired that I can return to work on Wed. but.. if not.. I can just call in. How are you doing? Still sore? Pain? Sleepy?

My dr.'s off ice gave me 4: www.vistavitamins.com www.bbvitamins.com www.vitalady.com www.bariatricadvantage.com I get mine from www.dpsnutrition.com on the left side go down the IDS then look for IDS New Whey Liquid Protein! I love the Blue Raspberry (only 25 g. protein and both the Orange and Grape 42 g protein. I have usually add them to a bottle of propel water but have just drank them by themselves.

Hey Lost! Welcome and congrats on your date! I am going to be banded tomorrow! I am so jittery right now. I did not have to go on a liquid diet only but I have stocked up my kitchen with supplies for after. I have gone to www.wlssupplies.com and they have several different sample packs. This is so awesome because not only is it samples so you dont have to buy a whole tub and find you dont like it, but they come in 8 oz bottles so you can add water, juice or milk right to the sample.. no need for another glass.. just twist the lid back on and shake. I went ahead and got the huge sample pack with samples of all the flavors and different brands.. so far .. I dont like the Tropical Burst or Peach.. but the cafe Mocha isn't bad, not my favorite because it is still a little too coffeeish for me. Plus with the huge sample pack I got a sample of a virtually tasteless protein powder that can be add to soups and other foods. I have a different type of protein powder that is fine when I add it to cold stuff (tuna, jello, smoothies) but is not good when added to soups and hot things. This one through WLSsupplies works wonderful! Also I got these IDS New Whey liquid protein bullet things.. OMG they are so great tasting! I have the 25 grm protein in Blue Raspberry and both the Orange and Grape in the 42 grm protein.. They are great by themselves but I have been adding them into a big bottle or 2 little bottles of propel flavored water! I dont care much for Fruit Punch flavor of anything so I haven't tried that flavor. Hope this is helpful to you!

The 25 gram and 42 gram liquied protein are awesome!! I have also been lacing them into my Propel water (orange flave protein with orange drink; the the grape & raspberry with any of the other berrry flavor propels). I got mine from DLS.com Also WLSsupplies.com has samples in bottles that all you ahve to do is add water/milk/liquid to and shake. Just thought I would share

Oh wow, you would not believe how red faced I am right now.. but I do appricate your advice! I am getting so excited.... I dont know if I am going to be able to sleep tomorrow night (or tonight for that fact).

Thanks for letting me know the hotel name.. last time I heard anything we can get a foot of snow.. yuck. Hopefully we wont need it because we have dogs that will need to be taken care of.. but just in case its nice to know. I totally understand about getting jittery!

Hey Everyone! I Wish I Could Make The Meeting But It Is Tuff With My Work Schedule. Maybe In May. Congrats Mal.. May 18 Will Be Here Before You Know It! Woofay! Let Me Know If You Decide To Drive Up Earily And Stay.. I Am Still Thinking We Will Drive Down. But I Do Agree That An Accident Would Not Be Fun After Surgery. Drewslou.. You Are Doing Awesome! About The Pill Thing.. I Also Heard (and My Mom Does This Since Her Gastic Bypass) Any New Meds She Gets She Take A Shot Glass And Fills It With Warm Water.. About As Warm As You Think Your Stomach Is, And Plop The Pill In.. If It Dissolves In 15-20 Minutes She Can Just Take It.. Other Wise She May Have To Cut It In Half Or Crush It Because It Wont Break Down In Time In The Little "pouch". I Only Have One Med That I Take Reg. Liq. Advil For My Headaches And That Dissovles In That Time Frame.. I Worry If I Get One Of My Bad Headaches While On liquids What To Take Then.. But Guess I Will Cross That Bridge With I Get There. :confused: OKAY..those of you who have had the surgery.. I need your help because the 2 times I try to ask this question... I turn so red I cant get the words out. Its not much easier to type it but.. I have no clue on the answer. How long after surgery did, or should, one wait before.. umm.. "rollin' in the hay"?

Congrats DrewsLou!!!! Wow.. you are such an inspiration!!! Today.. I am nervous and jumpy like a cat on a hot tin roof! I dont listen to the radio much and I haven't seen the news so my carpool mates told me about the storm and I am just .. OMG!!!.. I went today and picked up and E470 thingy for my truck.. at this point.. I will still leave Friday am to get to the center but will take the toll way so there should be less traffic and thus means less stupid people who want to drive 90 miles an hour down I25! I know my truck (a big ass expedition) can go anywhere.. we will just take it nice and easy. And after surgery.. I get the way back, 3rd row seat to sleep in.. figure Ron, hubby will drive.. mom in passenger and my daughter will sleep in the 2nd row.. all I have to do is get there. Is there a chance that it could be canceled due to weather? Bout the underwear... I am on the fence... good point about the tummy.. but also good point about an accident.. how embarrassing would that be!!! I cant even think of it.. hehe.. and since it is to be very cold... you know.. that might just be a little to "drafty" for me.. Besides.. afterwards when I am in the back seat sleeping, and turn over.. wouldn't that be a view in the "rear" view mirror! LOL

:wave: Hello! I have been reading a lot of the postings on this site for over a month now.. My husband found this site when we were considering having the surgery done by Dr. Kirshenbaum in Aurora, CO www.lapbandrockies.com We were very impressed with him and from what we read from others who have gone to him; but, honestly, his cost was a huge part of our decision because I have to self pay. I have had my consultation with him and was very impressed with his nature and his staff. Today is the first time I have posted, because even though it is via the internet, I am… well.. shy, and it took me some time to get the nerve up to post something. :clap2: I am scheduled for my lap band surgery on Friday April 13. I have talked with Dr. K’s nutritionist, Paula. She answered a lot of my questions and eased my concerns. I was worried about the pre op diet because I have done Atkins in the past and each time ended up extremely sick:sick . Paula has helped me lay out a plan to alter the pre op diet just a little so I won’t have such a bad reaction. I have the money lined up and ready. I have the time off for surgery and a couple of days after to recover has been approved from my work. I am getting so excited, and now that I have the map out and I am starting on my journey.. I am also getting nervous. Is that silly or what?! My mom is so happy that I am having the surgery. She had Gastric Bypass done in April 2004. She lost a lot of weight. She is still on blood pressure medication but now it is actually helping! Before her surgery, she was on a lot of meds but it did not help much. I am blessed because I have my family, and they are all cheering me on with my decision for lap band. I look forward to making new friends and having others I can chat with about being banded.

Welcome Stacey! Hope all goes well with getting approved.. I am self pay but it is still worth it! I am having surgery on Friday.. I am so excited I cant sit still! keep us posted!

Congrats on banding! As for telling.. only tell what and who you feel comfortable with. I would mention to you teachers in private so that they know what is going on and will work with you if need be. I have only told my direct boss, close family and the 3 ladies that I trust and carpool with. Others are asking why I am taking off and what am I doing and I just say "not much".. I figure when I return to work and it will be obvious that I did more then "not much" that I will just say I had adbominal surgery. Most of the folks I work with I am not close to so that will get the message across that I don't plan on telling them. Good Luck!

OMG!! for my birthday my hubby took me to see Larry the Cableguy.. I almost peed my pants I was laughting so hard! I actually was trying on alot of my clothes to figure out what I will wear home.. and what I can wear the following week to work. I dont have a mu mu.. I sure do wish I did. I have picked out a long and baggy denium dress.. OH... either NO Bra or I went and got some Sports bras... my mom made the mistake of a normal on after her surgery and she cried all the way home.. so.. I have some sport ones to wear afterwards until the incisions are healed. I never considered the "no undies".. hummmm... I might have to give that some thought... but what if it cold? hehe

Hey all.. wow.. made it threw Easter!! Oh..Happhy Easter everyone! Those who are healing.. my prayers are with you that it is a speedy and not such a ruff road.. Those who are waiting.. we are almost there! SHINE ON.. did your doc give you anything for vomit/nausea? I have also heard that a Dramamean(sp) patch has worked for many others. Since I am such a bad spelling its the meds. that you take if you get car sick. I am sorry that you are having a difficult time.. you are in my prayers tonight when I lay down for bed! Keep us posted as to how things are going!

Kirsten and Machele! THANK YOU!!!!!! I was so worried bout the pre op one as well.. yea.. I dont think that I will take it and I pray that I wont need the anti nausa one for after.. you guys have made me feel So much better! Now.. I really cant wait.. I haven't even weighed myself since I have been on pre op diet. Mal.. There is a consultation, then a pre op appointment (mine was a week before others have theirs the day before).. I dont have to go back Monday or Tues but I am sure that there will be instructions for a post op visist at sometime. Just not sure when.

Hey Dynamo.. He will want you to get Hipacleanse. I know I did not spell that correctly.. and wash with that the day of surgery.. and then a suppository (cant remember the name) the night before to clean out the track (I am gonna ask others if they did this because being on the high protein is already having me close to any bath room.. so there cant be much left to clean out). the anti vomit med perscription comes in a suppository. the pain and anti inflamitory(sp) comes in liquid. Oh.. did I mention that I was schuduled in the aurora building but now changed to Parker? Just wanted to let you know.
