Saw my surgeon today. Definitely have to have my band out....he said it wasn't anything I did to harm it or anything, I was glad to hear that, I did try really hard to do right. He said it was kinda like my body was not accepting the band anymore, all because of my body make-up. I hope I'm saying it right, it made sense when he said it. Well anyway, I'm gonna miss having it. I'm gonna try really hard not to gain weight back! Ill have to buy all new clothes....now just waiting on a phone call to schedule it.

What's left to eat??

I like Chike Protein shakes. I used that from the beginning, it was the best tasting. I get it from ilikechike.com. It has whey protein isolate and it is a meal replacement.

My doc said no ibuprofen, aleve, or aspirin and no caffeine. Said it will irritate your stomach.....Tylenol is OK.

I feel the s ame way about not getting the sleeve. Can't stand the thoughts of my stomach being cut away. That's why I chose the lap band in the first place.

So sorry for what you're going through....I'm also an emotional eater, I found out that prayer and walking helped me a lot after I lost my daughter two years ago.

Thanks guys for the thoughts. With all the trouble I've had I can't imagine right now getting another band. Right now I just want it out. I meet with the surgeon on Wednesday. I don't about the sleeve, I'm so close to goal weight I don't think my insurance would cover it. But I'll see what the doc says. I've learned a lot of new habits of eating and exercise I hope I can continue with....

Saw my doc today....my band is tilted a little bit. She told me not to worry about it, put me on prednisone again. I sure wish I could figure out why this happens. The doc said it wasn't necessarily my fault. I'm gonna to try harder not to overeat again, and see if this doesn't happen again. Carry on.

Does any else have a problem of your band being too tight first thing in the morning? A lot of times I can't even swallow water! Later on it loosens up, I have to do Protein shakes for Breakfast, have to wait a while before I can drink that, even. Am I doing something wrong? Could it be overheating the day before? Can't say I've never done that, haha. I have no Fluid in my band right now, kinda afraid to get one because of the tightness in the mornings, scared it will close off completely. Been under a lot of stress lately, my 14yr old grandson is living with me now......

I don't know, but I can put away a big bowl of it. I know I'm not supposed to, but it goes down real easy.

Has anyone ever had problems with pills hanging up in the band? Not really stuck, just hanging there. It's mostly my omeprazole I take first thing in the morning. It's a capsule. I have no fluid in my band right now. I've had things just barely stuck and can't eat anything for days, that's why no fluid, right now. I'm wondering if the meds hanging up is irritating my band thus causing swelling. I've tried the papaya enzyme for stuck food, could it cause swelling as well? Any thoughts?

I'm about to get so far off track, I'm having a difficult time. My old eating habits have come back to haunt me. I keep trying to start anew and I always cave in for sweets. I'm sure I have a sugar addiction! This time of year makes it extra hard....I haven't gained very much (3lbs.). I had my band 2 years and I've lost 60 of the 75 lbs that was my original goal. How do you get back on track and stay there?

I've lost a 50 lb bag of dog food and 10 lb bag of potatoes! So glad I'm not totin' that around anymore for sure!

I always blamed it on the protein shakes! I tried fiber supplements, and the gas was unbelievable! I carry Gas-X with me at all times.

I chose the band because I didn't want my stomach cut or my intestines rerouted, and if there was a problem I could have it removed. Yes, there's lots of rules. But there's rules with each surgery, right? It's worked well for me.
