In need of nighttime snack ideas

I like Dannon Light & Fit Greek Yogurt. It has 80 calories and 12 grams of Protein.
  2. Me too. I can tolerate everything that I've tried. I haven't tried bread, Pasta, or rice yet.
  3. I can totally relate. I am 4 1/2 weeks out and can't get enough sleep. I agree with everyone else that we just aren't getting enough calories in at this stage to sustain energy. In time it will improve...I hope lol.
  4. I'm surprised at 3 weeks out that you are allowed to have crackers. I'm 4 weeks out, and eating soft foods. I was in a bind the other day and stopped at McDonalds and got a single cheeseburger. I threw away the top and bottom bun, and just ate the pattywith cheese. I was able to eat all of it and it went down just fine.

    One month post op food!

I am one month out too. I eat eggs with a little cheese, refried beans, roast beef with gravy, and last night for dinner I had chicken chili.
  6. YUMMMMM!!!!! Great ideas! Thanks for sharing
  7. I did hit a stall when I intoduced real food back in to my diet. The stall lasted about 8 days, but now the scale is moving again. Luckily I never gained...that would have really frustrated me! I think your body needs to adjust to the different phases which causes the stalls. I've started my phases earlier than I was supposed to, but my surgeon told me that it was ok since I haven't had any problems.
  8. How far out are you on your surgery, and what are you eating? I am 3 weeks out, and eating refried beans topped with finely chopped chicken, melted cheese, and sour cream. I also eat eggs, chicken salad (chicken & ff mayo), mashed potatoes, and of course, protein drinks and yogurt. I have to admit that I did scrape the toppings off a pepperoni pizza and ate that too the other night. I haven't had any complications or issues.

    Period after Surgery

Mine came 3 days after surgery (5 days early) and was way heavier than usual
  12. My surgeon told me that once I was tolerating 3 to 4 ounces of liquid per hour that I would be discharged. I guess that I just assumed that I would probably just be at the hospital one night IF everything goes ok. But I see a lot of you staying 2 or 3 nights at the hospital. Just wondering how long all of you post op sleevers stayed in the hospital, and if you had to reach a certain "goal" to be able to go home?
  13. I can't see them either unless I highlight them
  14. I am 2 weeks out today, and I found that I could easily eat/drink without feeling "full" immediately. My surgeon said I just tolerated liquids better than most and that was fine. I started mashed potatoes, pureed chicken with mayo, and eggs earlier than I was suppose to. My surgeon told me it was fine as long as i could tolerate them. You are not alone.

    surgery date feb 18

I'm 2 weeks out, and feeling pretty good. I've had no issues except I get tired real easily. I introduced eggs, refried beans, and mashed potatoes back in to my diet this past weekend. Everything went down real well. I fill up only after a few bites, but seem to be hungry again in a couple of hours. I've lost 19 lbs, but seem to be at a stall since I added the "real" food.
  16. I'm 2 weeks out and haven't lost in 5 days. You're not alone. Hang in there.

    Loosing my job...

Seriously? I work for FedEx too (on the express side). If you're full time, they shouldn't be able to bump you down to part time. Plus our part timers still get full benefits.
  18. My pre op diet started feb 11 and surgery was feb 18. I start counting from feb 11.

    Post op day 3

I had my surgery feb 18th and never had one bit of nausea. I feel for those who have because the force of puking right after surgery has got to be horrible

This is a story of a girl...

I'm just a couple of hours away in Wichita. I was sleeved feb 18, and yes I LOVE LOVE LOVE food too! I am 42, married with 2 kids (son 13 & daughter 11). You are a beautiful person and I truly enjoyed reading your story. Thanks for sharing
  21. I just saw my surgeon today, and he said I could try thinned mashed potatoes and refried Beans since I'm doing so well, and can tolerate all the shakes and puddings with no problem. I had my surgery on the 18th. Looking forward to dinner tonight!!!!!
  22. I heard rave reviews about the unjury chicken broth. So I bought a big canister...big mistake! HATE IT! Let me know your thoughts on it...
  23. I am 8 days out from surgery, and have no problem getting my protein and water in every day. My dr never gave me a calorie requirement. Does anybody have calorie requirements? How many calories are you getting a day?

    Attention February 2013 Sleeve Buddies!

6 days post op, and am sooo looking forward for some food! I'm on protein drinks, yogurt, pudding, and cream soups. Everything seems to go down to easy. I've consumed more today than usual I'm ready for refried beans and mashed potatoes. I also had some cream of wheat with a teaspoon of peanut butter in it last night. I'm thinking that thinned down refried beans or mashed potatoes may be in the near future??? As long as I can tolerate it, I wouldn't think it would be harmful? I sure wish I was one of those "lucky" ones that didn't feel hunger!!!!!!!!
  25. I've been on clear liquids since surgery Monday morning. I had my first protein drink today, and then went to lay down. Oh my gosh, I felt like I had a monster in my tummy kicking and punching like crazy! Plus it was growling at me! It didn't hurt, but was strange. It finally calmed down, but wow! My tummy is still real swollen, and I look 9 months pregnant. Whenever I get up, I have to "hold" my tummy even with my binder on. Letting it hang just hurts. Anyone relate?
