My doctor told me that the first 4 weeks is just the band with no fill so that my body can get used to it. He also said that my stomach will be normal size so I essentially can eat what I want still - of course your not suppose to though. I think there will be a difference with your first fill.

In my experience, the longer you go without the food (such as ice cream) the easier it gets to break the habit....yeah I know-easier said then done but I fear that if you don't kick the snack habit then with or without the band you won't get the results you want. Although, I am not banded yet. Best of luck in your endeavors.

Hello, honestly I think everyone has a bit of vanity when opting for this type of surgery. Yeah...being healthy is on the mind....Yeah....I want to live longer....Yeah....I want certain ailments to disappear....BUT at the end of the day, I want to turn heads for looking good not for the amount of jiggle on my rump! Do it if you feel it is necessary for you, vanity or not ITS YOUR RUMP! -
Can Anyone Give Me Suggestions For Protein Shakes?
bbybls replied to barb rah's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hello, I like ISOPURE Low Carb Dutch Chocolate but the serving calls for 2 scoops per drink but you only need 1 scoop which yields 110 cal 25g protein 1.5g carb available at GNC but MUCH cheaper through amazon. I also like Syntrax Nectar flavor Twisted Cherry (tastes like liquid fruit punch jello) which yields per scoop 90 cal, 23g protein 0 carbs. -
Hello, I am new here...actually this is my first post. However, I just had my consult and my doctor said that it could take 3 months to get all in order for the surgery then after it is in, a month to "get used to it" but there is no liquid in it. Then you get a fill and your off to losing weight. I hope this helps and good luck! Thank you for all that you do for our freedom!
