I will be having surgery in July also, but don't have a date yet. I live in northern MI but surgery in Grand Rapids at St Mary's.

My BMI is over 50. I was denied because I have no health problems. I have appealed but haven't heard back yet. -
Because I don't have any life threatening issues.my BMI is over 50 but I am otherwise healthy.

Mine hang low, how do the doctors keep them out of the way. Sling them back with a bungie cord?

My documentation was supposed to have been sent to ins on Dec 18, but wasn't sent in until today. So frustrated! Hoping for surgery in Feb. -

Has anyone had WLS at McLaren hospital by Dr Baker or Dr Nagle? How is their aftercare?

I went to a seminar a few weeks ago and a consult today. The doctor told me the band has a high fail rate and 5 years out most regain all their weight. She said I should consider getting the gastric sleeve. The band sounds safer to me. The surgery will be in Petoskey.
