December 2017 Gastric Bypass!

Wow...that's awesome! Pretty cool that we are getting revisions as well. I love the support we get here. My family is great, but it is hard for them to identify with the issues I encounter as a wls patient (as hard as they try[emoji4]). Sent from my SM-T818T using BariatricPal mobile app -
@FluffyChix I am so sorry to hear about the delay, but it sounds like you may be able to get some assistance from your other doctors with letters. I love your perseverance. That determination is what is going to help you be successful once you get your surgery. Please keep us in the loop and we will be there to support and encourage you, just like you are with everyone else here.

RNY in one month
tankheadmommy replied to Biddy zz 🏳️🌈's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Wow...I would be nervous too. The recovery is going to be very difficult, but not impossible. You will need a really good support system with your doctor and family. Hopefully you will be able to take the time off from work to truly heal like you need to. I had my lapband placed in 2009 and it was removed in April. I have surgery on Dec 21st. I am having my gastric bypass laproscopically. I know I would need about 6 weeks or more of recovery if I had to have it done open. So glad you're posting your story. Please let us know how you are doing. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app -

Revision surgery anyone?
tankheadmommy replied to breprih's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
Yes, I will be having revision surgery to gastric bypass if all goes well with the insurance co. My lapband was removed due to pain and reflux. My band was placed in 2009, so I had it for a while. It was great until I started getting adjustments in order to lose weight. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app -
I have not heard of that. I personally going for gastric bypass. My band was removed in April. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

I had a small hiatal hernia. My band was removed because I had pain and reflux. That is the only thing that solved my issues. Sorry...I wish I had a more encouraging option. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

Lap band removal - cost? Hassle?
tankheadmommy replied to moonbeam's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm in the US. I did not have to pay anything to have my band removed. When the lapband was emptied (fluid out), I continued to have pain and reflux, so it was taken out without a problem. I would pursue it. I feel so much better without it. I did not how bad I was feeling until I had it taken out. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app -
Wow...I am going from lapband to bypass as well. My band was taken out in April. It must be exciting to be having surgery next week! Good luck to you! Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app
