It really depends upon your insurance company. If your doctor is able to convey how the band needs to be removed and your need for a tool to maintain a loss, you just may be able to get the sleeve. It's going to be really important for you to consult with your doctor and see if he/she is on board with a sleeve. You may have to jump through a few hoops, but it will be worth it if you are able to get the sleeve. By the way, I have read of people getting a revision with a low BMI if the lapband has to be removed for medical reasons.

You're not crazy. You the best you could to make a good decision then. It did not turn out the way you thought it would, but you can learn from it and now move forward. If you live in your mistake, then you can not move forward, you will stay depressed. Take it one day at a time and find at least two things you did well everyday and celebrate that success. Repeat that everyday and never stop. We are so good at putting ourselves down, but we are horrible at lifting ourselves up. You have purpose and you are worth it.

I wish I knew how to assist you. I can tell you one I can do and that is listen. I know this is an awesome forum and there are many other people who are will to listen as well. Check your local community action. They are usually a place that has lots of resources and they can direct you to agencies that can help you. It may be hard to find, but do not give you are worth it.

I'm not bleeding now. It could be a problem when I have surgery, so I had to stop taking them.

How did you make out? We're you able to lose the 4lbs? Is your surgery scheduled yet?

I have not had my surgery yet, but I can relate to how you are feeling. I had lapband surgery in 2009. I struggled to lose weight, but at least I was losing. I started having problems when the band was adjusted (fluid added or taken out). I finally had the band taken out in April, but I had gained all the weight back by that point. I am now scheduled for RNY surgery on Dec 21st. I have so many questions too about recovery and rate of weight loss. Hopefully it won't be too bad since I do not have to deal with healing from the port (it was awful when it was taken out). Please keep us updated on how you are doing after your surgery.

My doc told me some of the vitamins could have things in them that could make me bleed more during surgery. I am a month from surgery and I am required to stop taking my vitamins now. I will restart them the first day home after surgery.

I'm so sorry...ugh...I have my final labs on the 19th and my surgery is on the 21st...lol...I guess that date is wishful thinking on my part.
