I can eat way more than a cup of almost anything. I do stay full for a good while. I get very hungry in between and realize that I have to find something to satisfy me until mealtime. I'm able to eat more than expected by eating and chewing slowly and taking sips of water in between some bites. I have begun to eat things I shouldn't due to discouragement and no weight loss. I do know its my failure. So I'm back on it right this minute. Thanx to all of you for your comments. (This is harder than I thought).

I was banded Oct. 12, and lost 13 pounds quickly. After a week, all weight loss stopped. My first fill appointment was six weeks later, and I discovered that I already had 2.5 cc. in the band. An attempt was made to double that, but I couldn't swallow water, so 1 cc was removed. Now I'm able to eat more than I want to, and I'm not losing very much (maybe 2 pounds). I expected more, but I know I'm doing well. Is anybody else disappointed at slow weight loss?

Your co-worker is an A--H---. How horrible to have to be around such people, If I can figure out how, I would like to add you as a friend so I can keep up with you. Your life is going to change.

Weight Loss Traps: Why Smart Women Stay Overwhelmed And Overweight
ddcookrn replied to Melissa McCreery's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Magazine
Boy me too! Scared to cook! The family's living on Chicken Nuggets! I am hungry all the time. Love to talk about food, watch cooking shows, hang out in the grocery store, watch other people eat in restaurants - I used to ask people for their pizza box after they finished so I could smell it! What an addiction! So how are you doing? -
October 2012 Bandsters

Mine, too. I have no idea if anything was put in during surgery. I am actually gaining weight now (about 3 pounds after a 13 pound loss). Are you? -
You may have to pay for this yourself. Its a chuck of change, but what does a car cost? Is your life worth it? Haven't got alot of love for insurance companies these days. I don't believe they really have our best interests in mind, although they spend alot of money convincing us that they do (wellness, etc.). Please keep us posted on your situation.

Newly banded Oct.12. Lost about 13 pounds rather quickly, but then discovered I could eat more, and I have. I haven't eaten anything I wasn't supposed to, but I have had every sugar-free popsicle in a four state area. I have gained back 3 pounds and I'm nervous. My first fill is scheduled for the day before Thanksgiving. Since I increased my intake, I feel more comfortable, but I want to lose weight! Anybody else actually gained before a fill? Otherwise, no surgical complications and no vomiting at all.

Hello from Louisiana everyone. I was banded 13 days ago. I think I am doing very, very well. I don't sit still well, so I was up and running on Day 2, which, in nursing terms means (I think), about 48 hours post op. Short trip to the grocery store for more sugar-free popsicles. I have decreased energy, and finally the carbon dioxide which causes the shoulder and substernal miseries has subsided. So I have nothing to gripe about, except that I would like to have lost 50 pounds already. I am consumed with thoughts about food, cooking, watching others eat, etc. but I have been able to stay on the correct foods and supplements so far. Tea with splenda is my best friend. So how is everyone else doing? What problems are you having?
