From the album: Six months = Six pics
Last year in Sept., the first photo was taken. I was on a tour through Turkey, and we were traveling by minibus. Nobody wanted to sit next to me - simply because there wasn't enough space next to me! I felt terrible! That was when I decided to do something drastic! I had the lapband operation on 23 October 2012. I've lost 25kg since then - the second photo was taken a week ago, 5 April 2013. I'm on my halfway mark. I need to lose 25kg more. I feel like a different person! It has been incredibly hard work! Anyone who thinks that the lapband is an easy way out, needs to do some research about how it really works. It is merely a tool, and if you don't follow the - very strict - dietry rules, it won't work. Blessings to everybody else on their weightloss missions! Don't ever give up... -

This is how my face has changed in six months. I'm only half-way now... -
Why don't you go back to your meals one month post op, just to get yourself stabilized again? I found that very helpful whenever I reached a plateau. But I'd say you should get a small fill again, and just be very careful with what you eat - eliminating whatever is causing the reflux...? Wishing you all the best!

Why do you feel lost? Has anything specific happened?

I'm also losing massive amounts of hair. Wish the weight would come off as fast! Luckily I had very thick hair to begin with. I do believe that it will grow back again once all the weight has come off...? -
Still on the same plateau - will I ever break through?!?! Starting to wonder if the scale isn't stuck.... Banded on 23/10. If I eat any less, I might as well stop eating all together! I'm on MyFittnessPal.com and I log in religiously every day. I'm below 1200 calories every day. I'm still on mushies and I drink at least 3litres Water every day. I haven't been back to the gym, as per dr's orders, but I walk to and from school every day, at a fast, brisk pace (20mins). I do not take the lift, but climb stairs wherever I go. Still, no change in the scale... What am I doing wrong??? Please HELP!

Can somebody please give me some advice? I log onto MyFitnessPal every day to record my intake calories. Every day I'm below 1200 cals and every day I get the message that I'm in danger of putting my body into 'starvation mode' and will therefore NOT lose weight... Well blow me! I haven't lost a single ounce in three weeks and I'm about ready to explode of frustration! Should I eat more? Please help?

LoL! Good for you! Certain veggies also do... not a lot, mind, but they do. Google 'Protein rich foods' and you'll get a very comprehensive list. -

You have to drink a LOT of water! Remember, urinating is one of only three ways your body can expell the fat... So the more you drink water, the quicker the scale will start moving! All the best! -

Gee Jlynn217, you are going like a Boeing! Well done girlfriend, keep it up!!! My surgery was two and a half weeks ago, and I have lost only 20 lbs! What's your secret? -
Why have I not lost ANYTHING in the past three days? Two weeks post surgery, the weight has been dropping consistently, until three days ago... No change in calorie intake, still below goal every day; moderate exercise, walking and climbing stairs. What am I doing wrong???

Teachers...how Long Did You Take Off
bandedsandi replied to 4sweeties's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm a high school teacher with my office on the fourth floor. Average 7 out of 9 lessons a day - 45mins each. I had my surgery on a Tuesday and was back at school the following Tuesday. That first day was HELL! Tired, sore, weak, dizzy, name it...! That evening I fell into bed and slept for 12 hours straight. The following day I took a multi-Vitamin (Supradyn) and it went much better. I haven't taken any more time off school. No-one at school knows about my surgery. I still take the multi-vitamin religiously every day! I wish you all the best! -
2Nd Pre-Op Day, Not Feeling Good, Help!!!!!

I mix my Protein powder with a glass of 100% skim milk and a banana, all mixed in my food processor - its a lovely, healthy shake! I have it every morning for Breakfast. Small sips... I also mix the protein powder with yoghurt and a tiny teaspoon of honey - tastes great! Remember, you are healing in the first month, not dieting!
