I've been cutting back on food quite a bit since I made the appointment. I've had 3 normal sized meals since then, drinking much more water, and having small snacks like grapes and veggies. I'm not ready to back out, just excited for the changes!

I scheduled my appointment to get my pre-op meetings with the surgeons done! On the 13th I have a final physical with my PC DOC, then its all about the surgery. As of right now I'm excited and in a hurry, I'm sure when it gets closer ill be getting nervous and scared. This site has helped out so much, even though I'm not a big talker... I doubt I would have gone this far without the one who have responded and all the information I've gathered.

I love my dear husband, but he's not the understanding/sensitive type. He's also never been a chubby kid. He supports my decision but doesn't really understand my need to constantly research or talk about it. What he doesn't know, I'M FREAKING OUT!

Thanks, you're lucky you didn't have to do 6 months! My PCDoc is trying to push this along faster since its my second time having Tricare approve me for it. After this next week and my follow up appointment he's trying to get me to do the 5hr class-required by surgeons not the insurance- then start scheduling right after. I'm a little concerned because my husband(active duty army) will not be here during the time my PCDoc is trying to shoot for. I'm not scared of the surgery, I'm scared of doing it all on my own for a month with a dog that's all about mommy cuddle time :/ Everyone on here is so helpful and supportive, its like having a huge distant family that's always there!

What was everyones pre-op process? I was approved 2 years ago and didn't go because my insurance ran out, then I had to see a therapist and do multiple appoints with my pc doc. This time I was put on meds for a month(I have a week left) and after the meds I go for a meeting with the surgeons. I'm just trying to get a basic idea of what I'm up against before I get my date.

Its so true! They are hardcore babies when it comes to even just the sniffles! My husband is trying to understand and be there... he just keeps saying that if its what I want then go for it but he still thinks working out nonstop daily is what I need. He laughed so hard when I asked him to do the pre-op diet with me after I get a date set! Lbt.com is teaching me so much, some freaks me out, but the options and possibilities for after the healing process is amazing! Back like 10yrs, 5 miscarriages, and a brutal divorce, I was like a size 5... now I'm in a 20 and it freaks me out! I'm 5'4 and have never been 235-240 before, and I'm stuck! I don't feel like I need to lose it all... I just want to not be ashamed of myself or embarrassed when I go shopping. I love going through everyones stories, reading their questions, especially seeing the b&a pics... LBT.com has made me feel not so alone. -

Any suggestions for good pre-op workouts that aren't too boring?

Hi, I'm new to the band community. This is my second time being approved for the surgery. The first time was in the middle of my divorce and my insurance was up right before surgery and I couldn't afford it on my own. My weight wasn't an issue before, but after five failed pregnancies and a divorce I've gained to the point its causing medical issues. I'm extremely nervous, at 24 I still have a hard time grasping that I'd need this surgery. Any tips on how to prep mentally and physically before surgery?

Thank you all! A big concern that I have as of right now is the possibility of losing too much weight after surgery. I'm 5'4 and weigh 245, even before the weight problems I was always very curvy. I guess my concern with that is looking unnatural. Are there any tips to not have extra skin and whatnot after losing weight?
