Getting sick will they make me reschedule surgery?
Banjo257 replied to Reimerl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You don't want surgery, especially, aneasthesia, with a virus in you. My suggestion, call asap so they can reschedule you the sooner the better. -
The voyage of a lifetime..
Banjo257 replied to MileHighDreamer's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congratulations on your decision! I understand the pain of feeling older than you are when your body aches from weight. Good luck to you! -
I ran into the manager at my local Curves at the pharmacy. She looked at me, stared in recognition, then said " Joanne, you've lost weight, you look wonderful." First person to notice or comment. : )

Banjo257 replied to anniearrr's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Nothing worth having is easy. Couple of lousy days will lead to a lifetime of healthy and happy. You can do it! You are stronger than you think you are. Rent a great movie, read a book you can't put down, and thing to distract your mind. Keep posting! -
LAPBAND and TAXES ready to file soon
Banjo257 replied to waiting&waiting's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Absolutely worth it.we got a big deduction last yr for medical expenses. I just filed tonight(turbo tax) and I didn't spend enough this year to get the deduction. But take the time to check it out. And keep all slips regarding any special food you eat for the band too (ex. Shakes) Good luck! -
I hope you are home and feeling better soon.

Banjo257 replied to klr2012's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
How about adding flavors to those boring shakes. I blend decaf coffee and milk with protein powder then blend with ice. Add frozen fruit to vanilla protein shakes then blend. -
Good advise and info from ypur question. Thanks!

9 days until banding...
Banjo257 replied to mickeybeyes's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Some doc insist on pre op diets, some don't. Just as long as you follow your doctor's advise, you will be fine. If you weren't a bit nervous, I would be worried about you! : ) Worry means you know there will be unknowns and changes and you appreciate the importance of doing it correctly. You sound prepared and grounded and ready, now go and succeed!!!! -
surgery is tomorrow.
Banjo257 replied to zburdeshaw's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hooray. Lucky lady!! Be glad you don't live here, you may get snowed out!!! -
Had you already been on antidepressants? And was he just changing your meds? Reason I am asking is because wellbutrin is not suppose have the weight gain side effect that most antidepres. do. And if you could lose the weight by switching meds without going thru surgery, awesome. Or he may feel you gained due to depression and that is why he prescribed them. I have gained 50lbs in 15 yrs due to my meds. That is why I am thinking this way. My doc agreed after I had no alternative(wellbutrin didn't help my anxiety). Good luck.
