    Anxiety mental issue etc.

Tawnya, I am going to ask my doc abt Mg too. I started with panic attacks 16 yrs ago...when pregnant with my second son. Hmmm?! Never made the pregnancy connection until your post. So thank you for the insight. jmonique, being overweight and fearing i'd die of a heart attack was one of the main reasons I wanted lapband. I too have two sons and want to be here to help them throygh this crazy world. I personally think you will pass with flying colors and be approved. Best wishes to you! You may be on to something.....banders with anxiety . com !!!!! : )

  6. Welcome Ron. Glad your first day has gone smoothly. Love your screen name, sums up what is important to you and probably a major factor why you chose surgery. Way to go!!!

Learning how to eat with the band

You sound like you are doing great and noticed the signs to watch out for. Good for you! Keep up the good work-and if certain foods works for you, stick with them!
  12. Do what works best for you, but my advise is be cautious of getting caught in a lie. Especially lying to your kids. I feared being "found out" but I feared not being honest with my kids more. They were 15 and 18, boys. So when someone asks, I say I am on a strict diet my doc designed for me. If I get asked point blank, I will tell I had the band. My hope is someday we won't feel judgemental about ourselves so we won't continue contributing to the taboo of wls.

    New to this!!!

Welcome! I have the realize band. Was banded on 12/17/12, began process in Aug. Blue cross held up process for two months getting accreditation to hospital. I began @ 257lbs. Am now @ 223lbs. My doc sees me once a month, and the nutritionist too. The pain, very tolerable to me. By day five, felt normal. Really depends on the petson. If you have a low tolerance, you wil feel crumby. But if you can suck it up for a couple days, you will do great! Take lots of info from the site. Be cautious of those that seem to know it all. Your doc is the one to listen to. But you will meet some awesome people on this site. Enjoy!!!
