So after the run around trying to see if I can get this surgery. I get told that the surgeon won't even see me at all b.c I am 39% body fat an not 40%. This is ridiculous! I am so upset about this. Has this happened to anyone else?

I did, when I went to get weighed for the referral again. I plan on doing the same when I go to the surgeon. The weights only gave me 3 extra pounds but at least its something...lol!

I know its been awhile since I've replied to this so here's a small update. I went to see my dr dec 4th an she said to gain as much weight as I can to get at least 41-42 percent. An come back in a month. Well I did, I got up to 226 an made my bmi 41. She resumbmitted everything to the surgeon an now I'm waiting for an appt with him. I really hope it works this time!

Yes I know that's one of the reasons i'm irritated about the while thing. I have an appointment the 19th do I'll see if I can gain 4 more pounds an if she'll weigh me again. an resubmit the referral

Can't shrink an inch

Thanks for your ladies help an advice. I'm going to see if my dr can get me a different surgeon. I don't think I can lie about my height since its in my files. I can shrink an inch..lol.

Oh an my height is 5'2 an 215lbs

My insurance is tricare south. An I know what the requirements are you have to be 40 bmi too get it. I just think it's crap because it's one percent. An the surgeon won't even give me a chance basically.

Not that I know of. My dr hasn't tested me for any of that. She was certain I would get this surgery but I guess not. I know that's why the surgeon won't see me but I'm just upset about it.

Yea that's why I changed drs..lol. my primary care dr seems very confident that I'm going to get approved. I just don't want to get my hopes all up for it to be shot down again.

I got denied a year ago for lack of information. I had changed drs an she is pretty positive I'm going to get it this time. I have a bmi of 39. She's basically putting in every health issue that's wrong with me. Even headaches..lol. Has anyone had any difficulties with tricare south or maybe some advice. The surgeon I went to only put my height an weight. Nothing else so tricare denied for lack of info.
