I have been overweight for most of my adult years, losing weight, gaining it back...giving up, giving in...accepting myself. It has taken time to get to where I really do like who I am and even the way I see myself...but as we all know, sometimes we view ourselves differently. I am a positive person, I tell people to learn to love themselves for who they are. I did! But then the weight started creeping back on....
I guess when truly I realized I could not do this without getting a surgical intervention was after my last round of taking weight loss meds...shortly after I stopped, I started putting the weight on, clothes became tighter, and I started to get physically uncomfortable....it started to affect my life. I would come home from work, tv. weekends, college, tv. not wanting to exersize, or be intimate with my hubby...not wanting to do the things I love. So the beginning of this year I made the decision and did my research, I also reached out to a friend who had had this surgery years ago and even though she had a slippage, is my inspiration...she looks amazing!
I am doing this for ME. My husband (Anthony...15 years happily married! no kids!) thinks I am perfect not matter what, he has never said anything about my weight. I have only told a couple of friends...and NO ONE in my family, everybody else thinks I had a hiatal hernia repair (which I did!) and when I am ready I will share with them My Lap Band Journey...but until then, it's for those of us on here only, and my select circle of "in the know"!
