    Who Lost On Thanksgiving?

I love MFP especially since I can use my iPhone to scan the UPC symbol from my food to track. Makes it so much easier!

    Mushies

The chicken tasted good. Just make sure that you have enough liquid in the processor. I have added broth, salsa, FF gravy, really anything. For oatmeal, I make mine plain with Water and add just a splash of almond milk. I also add a scoop of unflavored Protein to beef up my protein for the day. I also can't stand the texture of cottage cheese but I can eat it if I put it in the blender for a little bit. Try to add unsweetened applesauce to it as well.

    Mushies

I am on mushies too. Cottage cheese and sauce. Refried Beans and salsa. Mushy Cheerios, cream of wheat, oatmeal. I have also been using rotisserie chicken and blending it with a liquid. I found sugar free buffalo sauce that isn't bad. Avocado is also good. Boca burgers are also very mushy if you make them in the microwave. Any others??

    Help !

I am only three week post-op and have luckily been ok. On Sunday, though, I felt really hungry. I had a hot cup of tea and the feeling subsided. Hope today was better than yesterday!

    Turkey Sausage Stuffed Zucchini

I have done a version of these before. Instead of boiling the zucchini, I bake them. Also, instead of the marinara, I have added diced tomatoes and meatloaf seasoning. Turns out great! You can also do the same recipe but with peppers instead. Thanks for reminding me about these!
  6. Five weeks after I gave birth to my second son, I had to have my gallbladder out. I was in so much pain it felt like I couldn't breath. I felt so much better after I had my gallbladder out and I was only five weeks out from having a C-section. I was just banded on November 6th and for the most part have been feeling good. With that said, I thought the recovery from the lap band was more difficult. Once you have the surgery, you will need to watch your fat intake, which you are probably doing already! I think you will do great. Let me know if you have any questions....Good Luck!!
  7. Don't weigh yourself today....do it in a few days. Can't change what you ate yesterday. The only thing you can do is remember how you feel today and not make the same mistake. But just think, last Thanksgiving you probably didn't even think about how many calories you ate.....baby steps!

    2 Years Ago Today...

I always love reading your posts! I made it through dinner with my in-laws on the mushie phase. Blended turkey and gravy, with a little bit of cranberry sauce and mashed potatoes. Not hungry at all....not even hungry for any dessert! Happy Thanksgiving!!
  9. I just had surgery on November 6th. Very excited that as of this morning, I am officially down 25 pounds! I lost 15 pounds on my pre op diet and another 10 pounds since my surgery. I know the goal while I a healing is not to lose weight but I was super excited!

    Full Liquid Ideas

Not to be rude, but as I stated in my post, everything was blended to to a runny liquid state using water or almond milk. My doctor is the one who suggested to use Greek yogurt and cottage cheese. As long as you can drink it through a straw, it is allowed on a full liquid diet. But I don't use a straw.

    Full Liquid Ideas

I was really just trying to think of some food ideas outside of the box. Had some apples on hand and was getting tired of Soups. I have also taken Greek yogurt, almond milk, and unjury chocolate Protein powder and mixed that together.
  13. Just moving to mushies so turkey in the blender for me! We are going to my on laws though so I offered to bring butternut squash Soup. Always good to have a back up! Nervous though. Some of his family doesn't know I had the surgery.

    Gas-X Strips

I found the gasX strips at target. I would also ask your doctor about your pill. You many have to cut it but ask first.

    Full Liquid Ideas

Try adding cottage cheese to things. I have added it to my soup and blended it. Jut add some more liquid if it isn't runny enough. Last night I baked some apples with out the skins and with cinnamon. I blended them with almond milk and cottage cheese and it was a nice break from soup. My doctors also allows cream of wheat, just really runny.

    Preparation For Surgery

I had surgery last Tuesday and went back to work today. I think it really depends on what you do. I went to Kohls before my surgery and bought a new pair if pajamas. I wore them to the hospital this way I wouldn't have to get changed when I got home. My surgery was same day. I went is at 7am and got home about 4pm. Took a little longer in recovery because my oxygen levels were down. Make sure you have some broth, Protein shakes, and hot decaf tea at home. Some people have sugar free Popsicles but they were too sweet for me. Also, make sure that you have GasX strips and a heating pad. Hope this helps! Good luck!
  18. I had surgery last Tuesday and today was my first day back. I teach computers in High School so I sit most of the time. I do wish I had more time off though. I am very sore and tired right now.

  20. I was banded on November 6th and up until today, I have been feeling pretty good. Tired but not much pain. Today has been a different story. The lower left hand side of my stomach keeps having shooting pains through it. Has anyone had the same thing? I am supposed to go back to work tomorrow and now have some concerns. Any advice is welcome...

    Your Last Supper......

The day before I started my pre-op diet, my husband and I ordered dinner. I had Penne Vodka and a bottle of wine!!
  22. No problem. I actually grew up in Washington just north of Clinton. We were ok down here but my family up there didn't do so great. My sister just got here power back on Saturday! Good luck with everything!
  23. I am in South Jersey but have heard good things about Dr. Michael Nusbaum in Morristown. There is also the Institute for Weight Loss in Perth Amboy. Lots of choices around Raritan.
