Sorry to hear about your loss. This is going to be a difficult time for you emotionally. I know my biggest problem is emotionally eating. Maybe try to keep some healthier options around to munch on and up your Water intake. And it you slip up, don't beat yourself up. Just recognize your mistake and move on. Good luck and I will keep you and your family in my prayers. Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk

November bandsters Unite

I don't know what restrictions feel like either. Haven't had a fill yet and won't get one this month. I need to lose less than four pounds a month for my doctor to give a fill. Not complaining though. The scale this morning said 200.6 so I am down over 40 pounds since I started my pre-op diet the end of October! Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk -
Really depends on what you put in it. A dozen egg whites, one container of fat free ricotta, and a half of cup of fat free cheddar divided into 12 servings is about 65 calories with about 12 grams of Protein. Add lean ham for even more protein. They also freeze well for an easy Breakfast. Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk

I blend about a dozen egg whites and a small container of ricotta cheese (I use fat free but you can use what you want!) Fold in shredded cheese and whatever else you want....spinach, ham, tomatoes, really anything. Bake at 375 until firm and enjoy! Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk

lunch and dinner meal ideas for work ??

What about making a crockpot of chili and then having it for lunch? eggs? Quiche? Veggie burgers? Try to cook on the weekends and then portion out your lunches for the week. Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk -
I think this thread has gotten completely off topic. The original post was not about name calling or point fingers at people who lose at a slower rate. It was simply about accountability for our own actions. I know I will not have lost any weight when I step in the scale this morning. Why? Because I had a slice of pizza last night. And I take responsibility for that. While this is a public forum and everyone is entitled to their own opinion, it is not ok to call each other names or taunt other people. We are all adults and should act accordingly. Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk

I think it is fine to complain....it is nice to know that there are people out there that are going through the same thing as you. What bothers me are the same people asking why they can eat over a cup of food and why the band isn't stopping them. If they had done some research, they would know that the band isn't supposed to stop them from eating anything, just help us curb our appetite. Good luck with your journey!

I can only speak for myself but I am sorry if I offended you in any way. I think it is great to be able to ask questions and get clarification on issues that arise with the lap band. What baffles me are the people who don't seem to do any research before they have surgery and then wonder why it isn't working for them. I just don't understand why someone would go through surgery to not really understand how the lap band works. I am not perfect in any way shape or form and I didn't get fat by making smart food choices. But before I got the surgery, I understood that I needed to make a lifestyle change and truly commit to living with my band. And who knows what is in store for my future....I have only be banded since November. Every day there is at least one person talking about how the lap band is still letting them eat bread and junk food. The band is not designed to stop us from eating those foods....it is supposed to curb our appetite and allow us to go for longer periods without eating or snacking. Again, sorry if I offended you but don't agree with people placing a forgein object in their body without doing some major research.

I absolutely agree! I haven't had my band for that long. I was just banded in November. What blows my mind is that it seems that some people never did their research before having surgery. They are asking questions or complaining about issues that they should already know the answer to. I think this site is great to get tips from and support when you need it but it seems like some people just don't want to change their lifestyle...the same lifestyle that made them fat to begin with. Don't get me wrong, I am not perfect and I have a long way to go. But I can say that I did my due diligence before have my surgery. Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk

Need help on foods to eat
megamomnj replied to sassysissy's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
For breakfast I usually have eggs, Special K Protein Plus Cereal, oatmeal, or Greek Yogurt. I baked eggs in a muffin tin for perfect portion sizes. For lunch, I have chili, chicken and broccoli, turkey and cheese roll ups, or a salad with a protein. dinner varies. I have been making a lot of dinners in the crockpot and freezing them. I love the recipes I have found on emilybites.com. Good luck! Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk -
I was banded on November 6th and my doctor is the same way. I am actually ok with this because I am losing at a steady pace. When was your last fill? When did you start to gain weight? Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk

Do you know if my friends on Facebook can see if I joined the group? Don't get me wrong, I'm not ashamed of getting the band but don't need to advertise it either. Sent from my iPhone using LapBandTalk
