ZinniaMT replied to jsws91's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congratulations! If you can tough it ought through the first 5 days of the liquid diet, you will have made it through the most difficult part if preop (at least that was my experience)! You got this! -
How awesome! Just so beautiful!

Thanks everyone! Feels good to know that "100 Gone" is just around the corner!

I weighed 333 lbs at my highest (known) weight in 2005. When I began my liquid pre-op diet in Feb, 2013, I weighed 270, and day of surgery was 258. Today I weighed in at 239.5! The before picture shown here was from about 18 months ago when I weighed about 295 (I have no full-body pictures from my heaviest weight as I avoided cameras at all costs). I remember the moment the picture was taken, and I soooo did not want to be in front of the camera! It's hard to even look at the before picture because I'm ashamed that I ever allowed myself to get in that condition...but I'm thrilled with the work I have done to get to where I am today. It has been work, truly...not just physical work but especially EMOTIONAL work. It's amazing to me how when I became emotionally healthy, the physical health followed! Since having the lap band surgery, I feel better than I have in years! I sleep so soundly, and I wake up feeling rested! My blood sugar levels are coming down! down! down! Looking forward to the next 60 lbs melting away!

I've seen you posting questions about insurance requirements. The ladies in Dr. Mobley's Somerset office totally had their act together as far as getting me approved...knew exactly what my insurance required. They made sure every t was crossed and every eye dotted, and once everything was submitted, I was approved in a few days. Hopefully the staff working on your case will be just as competent. After my surgery, Dr mobley gave my husband his personal cell phone number with instructions to call if any problems arise. "No question is a stupid question" he said to me. That's comforting to know. He definitely expects you to follow his instructions to the letter, which I am doing my very best to do! Being a Lapband success himself, I believe he knows what he's talking about. -

Do you find it makes a difference in your weight loss if you drink plain water vs using flavor packets (sugar-free, calorie-free, and caffeine-free)?

Don't know what happened with those duplicate messages:0 sorry!

Would you consider cottage cheese to be a slider food?

Today I purchased an Angus Beef Chuck Roast to cook in the crock pot. When I enter this into the search area on MFP, the options offered have such wide variations in nutritional values in regards to protein and calories. How do you decide in situations like this one? I hope my question makes sense. Thank you!
