My periods have ALWAYS been so painful that finally after many years the doc recommended bc. Wish I knew sooner but after reading these posts I am kinda freaked out to have my period even with the bc pills! I never really skipped the placebo pills but sounds like its the best time to start! I used to miss work and school because of the pain, I dont want it being bad again because of the band.

I only had a period right after surgery. I take birth control pills. Sounds like it would be the perfect time to just skip placebo pills and take only the active pills from now on! Anyone know if that is fine to only take active pills? Im on the chewable ones lol.

Don't do it!!! I made the mistake of getting fast food not too long ago. I could not handle the fries. Got stuck and had to vomit. So not worth it! I should have known better but whenever I crave something I go for it

Most insurances will not cover diet pills. I have worked in a pharmacy. I haven't tried Qnexa and since it is new there wont be a generic for a few years. I have only taken the phentermine in the morning and Topamax at night. I am able to get both prescriptions for little under $40.

Same with me. I felt fine enough to eat after a week. I just take my time eating. I wont eat bread though. First time I tried after surgery it got stuck

I have always been on the heavy side but a few years ago when I was 197 I was able to find boots that actually fit! I got them at Payless Shoes. I only bought them because finally for the first time I was able to find some that actually zipped. It will take a while but keep trying. Eventually you will find that one pair perfect for you! I am 257 now but looking forward to my old shoes fitting!

Last time I lost a lot of weight I always had people I didn't know ask how I was losing it. I think that's what freaked me out. My friends and family know what I did but I don't need some random person passing judgement.

When my family compliments me I feel great. Just yesterday my grandpa said I look happier. But when its people I don't know too well I get so weirded out big time! I guess I am used to feeling invisible. Im totally curious to what everyone has to say. I am worried about the compliments when I get back to work since we have tons of regular customers. Can't really handle compliments well either. I can see the difference and it has only been 20 lbs.

When I was in a hospital in Los Angeles I was told I had sleep apnea. Talked to a specialist down there but my insurance denied a sleep study I used to feel like I was choking to death when I slept. Horrible feeling! I have lost 40 lbs since that hospital stay and no longer feel like I am going to die when I sleep.

Looks like my mistake is not reading directions! I always chew regular gum and always seem to swallow it. So kinda treated the Nicorette gum the same way.

The flavor of the gum wasn't too bad but I always felt my heart beating faster. Kinda tripped me out! I might have been chewing more gum than I was supposed to or something. About two years ago I was in the hospital because my heart was skipping beats so I think that is what made me paranoid about the feeling of chewing the gum.

It took me about a month before surgery before I finally quit. Although I was told to stop sooner just had to smoke less til finally I thought I could do it. I still want to smoke occasionally but I haven't yet. I am still not back to work so I could start up again since my work is so much like middle school with all the drama between co workers. I tried the Nicorette gum but my best advice dont waste your money on that. Doesn't help.

I was told I had to quit smoking a few months before surgery. I was told there is more complications from surgery if I didnt stop. I was told any surgery they have you stop.

I get the Atkins shakes at Target since they sell 8 packs of it.(About $10) I have also gotten it at Wal Mart since they have a little more variety.(4 packs about $5) I found those two to be the cheapest. Walgreens and Rite Aid charge about $9 for a 4 pack. Total rip off!

Welcome Katy and good luck on your journey! I am from Paso Robles and ended up going to a doctor in Bakersfield. Only one my insurance covered but I was happy with that choice. So far just in October I lost 20 lbs.

The combo I am taking is FDA approved - Qnexa. Quite a few doctors give out the combo. Its been around a little while. All meds you get will have a list of side effects but does not mean you will get any of them.

I had to take the liquid Benedryl too. The anti itch cream didn't seem to help me. I didn't realize that the itching was normal after surgery!

I had to sleep with a pillow over my stomach for several days. It seemed to help having some kind of light pressure over it. Also ask the hotel if you could get a handicap room. My aunt did when she got bypass said it helped out a lot when it came to being in the shower. I stayed at my parents for while since they have a handicap accessible bathroom and being able to sit in the shower felt great. Also nice having that bench in the shower to shave your legs. Took me about a week to finally be able to do that though.

My doctor wants me off for a month since at work I am constantly lifting heavy items. Im going insane being out of work! It was nice for a week but now the time drags on and I feel fine to go back. Plus I got denied state disability so income would be great.

A doctor around here gives phentermine and topamax combo. It seems to work. I keep going on those pills. I just started up on that combo again. The doctor at that clinic said it was fine that they have a few patients who had the band also. Im still craving food like crazy so that combo helps me not want to eat. I lost a lot with the pills but as soon as I stopped I gain again. I havent tried phentermine alone though.

I just have a guard kitty. I still take him out for walks like a dog.

How do you like Curves? I been looking in to going there but can't decide on that or Planet Fitness (Right next to my work) I kinda like the idea of women only for Curves.
