    Scared to eat!

For me, when food gets stuck, the feeling is like when you eat ice cream too fast and it goes down the wrong way!!!

    Fasting with Lapband

:help:Hi...my name is Gloria. I am Muslim. Our Holy month of Ramadan starts in Sept. I'm not sure if anyone has been through this, but during that month we fast from sun up to sun down. I fast on Mondays and Thursdays the month before to get by body use to it. I had my lapband surgery on Mar 08 '07. Thursday Aug 9th was the first day of my fast in preparation for Ramadan. I didn't eat or drink anything from 5:30am-8:18pm. When I ate, I ate slowly and very little. Then after 15-20 I started to feel sick like I wanted to throw up. My question is, has anyone fasted for a long period of time and if so, what was the outcome? Of course I'm going to ask my Dr about this before Ramadan and I'm hoping he will give me the ok to do it. My husband says I'm excused because of my lapband, but I look forward to Ramadan and I would hate not to be able to participate. Any advise? Gloria :cry
  5. Thank you very much! This whole lapband experience has been an adventure.
  6. Thank you so much for the replies. I think the scary part is the fill not the liquids. I just don't understand how a person can't lose weight when they are eating right and excercising daily.
  7. I am going for my first fill tomorrow 05/04. I have been reading stories from most of you, and they have scared me? What questions do I ask my Dr.? I too, feel like I can eat anything. I really want to know what to look for or should I say feel for? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    First week post-op

Well, Yesterday March 15th was a week since my surgery. I feel happy that I was able to have this procedure done. Though I don't know if I am following the directions of my diet correctly. A week before my surgery I weighed in at 270. I will weigh myself again on 03/18. I'm still really nervous about the progress I have made, if any.

    New and from TEXAS !!

Hi, My name is Gloria and I'm from Richardson, TX. I had my lapband surgery a week ago today. I am now on the full liquid diet. However, even with following the 2 oz. an hr rule, I still feel hungry. Is this normal? Am I doing something wrong? Any comments? :help:
