I was banded on 8/6/07. I have only lost 31 pounds to date. Is this a very slow rate. I know that everyone loses differently but I feel like I'm way behind in the game.

Go ahead and cry it all out. It's better than stuffing it all in and then needing some so called "comfort" foods. It definitely will get easier. When I lost a love one time even though I knew it was for the best, I had to sit on my hands to keep myself from picking up the phone and begging him to come back. (If only I could do that with food) : ) I know pathetic right? Now I don't know what your religion is but I prayed, and prayed and prayed some more for comfort and it God really answered my prayers. Also, it will help to just write. Write anything...even if it's just words or phrases all down the paper that don't even make sense, it will keep your mind occupied and help to rid yourself of some of those thoughts. Try to keep your mind on the new you that will emerge after all of this. : ) Remember you have plenty of people who care about you and concentrate on them as well.

Just wondering...if you are waiting to have the LAP Band and going through all the pre-op or have had it already..are you or did you get discouraged with still trying to diet and waiting for a surgery date? I started in January and have worked really hard at losing weight. I have lost 20 pounds to date but it just seems like I'll never find out when my surgery will be!!!!!!! It took me a long time to make up my mind about it but now that I have, I just want to do it. :faint: Maybe just a word of encouragement from anyone going through this would help. THANKS!

My ex husband weighed 125 #s soaking wet.... . Anyway there was a comedian on the radio one time when she was visiting my home. I happened to just be coming around the corner hearing the comedian talking about fairs and how all fat women walked around eating all the carnival foods and their skinny little husbands walk behind them just waiting for a scrap to fall and I heard her say to my husband "Hey honey that would be you"! I had to go back upstairs and compose myself and come back down and act like I hadn't heard anything. 8 years and a divorce later that still hurts!:phanvan

I have been through most of my classes, dietitan appointments, and support group. I only need to see the psychiatrist and then meet with the surgeon to set up a date for surgery. I'm nervous and excited at the same time. Trying hard to diet before, my hope was to have 30 pounds off by surgery and I've lost 20 to date. Wish me luck!

I loved this post....I seem to be experiencing the same problem lol. Anyway, my name is Deanna--new here today and I am planning on having the LAP Band done. The surgery should take place in June or July.
