Hi. Sleeve gastrectomy to Plication to kickstart weightloss
Bos123 replied to Aussiegal's topic in Gastric Plication Surgery Forum
I have the plication but have never heard of this revision. To my understanding your stomach is reduced to the same size... Was yours too big? -
My dh and I have been together for 15 yrs. this surgery aside, there were times that I ( and probably him) wanted out or thought, "what am I doing here?". Each time I gave it some time, reevaluated, and thought is this worth fighting for? People change and not alway at the same times. So I would give it some time, and each time it seems that we grew back together. For me it is worth it. For all the things that annoy me about him, I'm sure I annoy him just as much. But he is there for me and loves me fat or thin, and visa versa. So really take some time and make sure you are making the right decision for yourself. If I'd have followed through I would have missed out on some fantastic memories over the years. A quote from an old couple when asked how they stayed together for so long " we never fell out of love at the same time". Or, " the grass is greener where you water it". Love that one too;) anyway good luck with your decision, I hope it works out for you either way;)

I know the struggle:( unfortunately over the years I've had (what I thought were forever) friendships go down the drain. If I had this done years ago and had confided in them, the support may have been there then but I can guarantee it would be gossip now. So as hard as it was not to share, now I am so glad I didn't tell anyone. People who love me support my healthy decisions towards a new lifestyle are there for me... Eating habits and exercise included. Those that don't care or may not be there in the future don't know the difference. I am not under scrutiny of anyone, not defending the stigma that goes with wls. I'm just living my life. You may have different people in your life but that was my unfortunate experience. I have met some wonderful people on here tho;).

I completely agree with above! I didn't tell anyone but my husband so I felt Like I was in this unknown hell and had no one to talk too or support me. I kept it secret so I had to hide my tears from those im closest to. So I am totally here for you too. Trust me when I say that I promise in a couple more weeks your hormones and body will balance out and all this emotional turmoil will be a distant memory replaced by excitement and positivity;)

Oops have different post op diets. After day four I could begin to add full liquids which included cream soups, shakes, yogurt, sf puddings, broth, sf Popsicles and of course sf jello. None of these hurt me at all I just couldn't eat much at a time. Love mush sp... So don't feel bad about your cheats... I think your diet is a tad strict . Not that I'm saying anything Negative about it, just don't be hard on Yourself! You guys are doing great!

I honestly feel for you. It's weird how drs

If it helps... The main thing that made me Not cheat that first month was the fear of doing any physical damage to myself inside... Cause Mexico is far away and no one here knows anything about plication lol. Maybe that will help motivate? Just a suggestion on how I made it through hell month;)

I'm at 165 now but the last two months it seems like I stay at a current weight then drop some on the fourth week. Stupid plateaus oh well at least I'm not gaining lol -
Would love to hear the different journeys of people's success! doesn't matter when you were sleeved. It's reassuring to me to see how everyone is different at this height. Hw 208, prop 203, day of sw dec 3/12 199, cw 165 and 35 inches lost. Shares yours please!

Wow everyone is doing fantastic! It's nice to search out similar heights because that usually means we have similar goal weights. I'd say anywhere btwn 147-165? Is that safe to say? Good luck with all of your journeys! Any tips or tricks to break those stalls or anything else to share please do. These posts made my day;) -
My dr wouldn't do both so I chose just the plication. Mostly because of the maintenance o the band and I live two hrs away from the closest fill dr. I've had great success so far. Sw 199 dec/12 cw 165 and I'm 5'7. Shoot away if you have any questions. Good luck with your choice;)

I am here for you any time you need;) so is it done then? How are you feeling? -
And by that I mean I have been going between 169-170 for the last month. Sw was 202, I'm 5'7, cw is 169-170.... I uped my excersize routine and feel good about it but would sure like to see it moving again... Can anyone tell me a typical day of food (easier the better). I would really appreciate it to avoid this disappointment creeping back in that a remember at about this time in my old dieting days. I drink a premier protein in the morning with vitamins, might have a boiled egg around 1030 after workout,, usually different spiced tuna or salmon with salad for lunch... A sensible dinner without carbs... I do snack on peanuts here and there... And I get all my water in with a coffee once a day.... I might switch something up by addin a cheese stick with deli mt, or scramble eggs. I make taco salad (love) with their low sodium spice an extra lean ground beef.... I am proud of myself and feel fret for what has come so far but I feel like I'm missing something
