I'm not a huge religious person by any means, but when I feel like that I like to think that there is a god of some sort that is up there and always with me. So I am never really alone... I believe there is a bigger picture out there and today is just a down day..if that doesn't work take a lorazepam those work wonders lmao;)

There's a few people on here who have had the plication and band. I only have the plication. I love it, low bmi, not as strict as I should be but I'm still loosing... Down 52 pds from my highest and 9 pds from goal. There is no malabsorption issues as your whole stomach is there. They say its reversible ( not that I would want to do that). Will there be issues with that if a day comes where I would need it reversed? Maybe. But that can be the case with lb too or any other wls. At this point my whole stomach is alive and well, I can only fill part of it. Good luck with your decision;)

I just have the plication, not the iband so you might want to ask Carolina girl, chez, or toddy how they are doing with theirs. They have both. I am super happy with my plication. To me the after care and diet are similar with all wls generally speaking . So I have many friends that I have made across all three boards to help support in loss and maintaining. The lb was what I was initially going to get. But the after care would have been an issue with me because I live in such a rural area. And the sleeve seemed to permanent just in case lol. So this was a good choice for me. I struggle like many with some Old issues trying To sneek in here an there, but overall I am happy. No complications. Elated with the restriction I feel. I was low bmi but have managed to loose 52 odd in 9 mos, putting me 9 pds away from goal. I feel better, am more active, all this has positively affected my depression issues. Fantastic to all those taking the leap of wls faith to turn their lives around. Good luck to you;)

Don't discount the plication. It's an option too. It mimickes the sleeve and more and more drs are doing it. Many here have the lb with plication ( I think they call it the I band). I just have the plication and am doing great;)

Sigh I have the same worries Lois. I recognize I still can be an emotional eater and I've slipped up big time a time or two... But I keep going... Hopefully she does too... If I eat the wrong foods I can eat way more than I need too... I am 35 and believe that I will always be that same person who has to watch what she eats. I will never be one o those girls who can eat whatever and not gain... Sad but true;) I am way more active now than I was and I can say it helps with depression so if nothin else ill keep doing it for that reason;)

Glad everything is goin well! I had a sip of a paralyzer four weeks after on New Years and the pop in the drink made me feel sick. So be careful of carbonation so soon after!

Let me get this right...some of you drink soda? Whoa!!!
Bos123 replied to PrettyThick1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My dr said I shouldn't ( not couldn't ) drink them.. And he told me to cut it out for my kids. He's convinced that carbonation starts "stretching" your stomach from an early age...could be... -
Need some support on issue in Vancouver ! Infected port!! No doctor!!

I am super happy! I am 5'7, hw was 218, sw was 202, cw 156... A bit of a slow loser but I haven't been this small in ages. I live in a rural area so lb "upkeep" made me nervous... The sleeve was too scary... So plication it was. Wouldn't change a thing, no complications and I feel satisfied with a portion I what I used to be able to eat. It's unreal. Years of yo yoing and I am so grateful for this tool. I had it done in tj with dr Ortiz. -
I am starting this tomorrow! How is it?

Ask chez or Carolina girl because they have both. I only have the plication so I'm not 100% sure what the plication does for the band. I heard it helps with slippage

I've had it done! Fantastic! There are a lot of people here with both or just one. They call it an I band with both
