Hi, I would highly recommend Crosby, for one due to the number of surgeries they have done. They also have a web site where you can go on line and ask questions or chat. The Doctors even get on line and answer questions. Go to www.mimismn.org and enter the biariatics area. Good luck to you. Tammy

Hi, I was banded on 2/3/04, I did lose 40 3's before my banding thou. Two days after my banding I blew my knee out, I didn't realize it due to the pain meds from surgery. I had to have knee surgery and was out of work just about 3 months. Thank you and how are you doing? I have been stuck here and I am fighting "head hunger", need to get my but in gear and start concentrating on good choices. Tammy

Has anyone noticed hip pain after getting up. I think I must of carried my weight forward, so now that I have lost 98#'s when I stand up I feel like I have to lean forward a little because it hurts in my hip joint. I am going to have to start a stretching rountine to stretch out all those shortened tendons. Let me know if anyone else has had that experience. Tammy

Thank You for your reply. My port area doesn't feel as sore. Thanks again for all your good advice. I hope I don't have to be rebanded, I still haven't figured out if my insurance will cover any problems that may develop w/my band. :cry Tammy

:EEK I think I might of did something to my port, maybe the sutures that hold it in place. I was driving and looked over my shoulder to chang lanes and I felt something in the area of my port. I felt it, it kind of sticks out and I felt a really sharp pain. It has been sore every sense ( about three days) and somethimes I get a sharp pain from just moving. How would I know if something is wrong? Does insurance cover repairs? I go back to the Doctor on the 3rd of August. How did they repair yours? Thanks for your support and good advice. Tammy

Weight Loss, Exercise, and Inches

What type of workout do you do and how often? I am working out in the gym twice a week and using the treadmill plus outside work at home. I know some people from the Kakauna (sp?) - Holly Glashen. I live in Minnesota by Duluth. Tammy -
Hi Anne, That is the same date I was banded. I lost 40 before and 10 after surgery. I hurt my knee so I have been laid up and unable to exercise much. I need to get moving now though. Good Luck to you. Tammy

Hi Mel, I lost 40 #'s before surgery and 10 since surgery. I hurt my knee two days after surgery and had to have knee surgery, so that has slowed me down. I have been a little down because of that and slipping back into old habits. I have to get my butt moving - as in EXERCISE! Do you go to the Moose Lake support group? There is one coming up on the 13th, I hope to be able to go. Thanks for the reply and good luck to you. Tammy

Hi I went to my informational meeting in Crosby, MN. on October 6th, 2003. The Dr.'s said if you are serious about this you need to get on the Atkins and lose some weight before your approval. On October 7th I started Atkins. I had surgery on 2/3/04 in Crosby, MN with Dr. McCollister ( he is very good). Before surgery I lost 40 #"S and since another 20#"s. I am very pleased with the weight lose, although if I look at myself I can't see it as much. I think I still look the same. :Bunny :rambo Go figure! I have my first fill tomorrow, I am looking forward to it. Tammy

Hi All, I just had my fill on Thursday, I had 1.5 cc also. I am not noticing too much difference. Maybe a few more bubbles or burps. I think I have to focus on slowing down, eating slower. I had knee surgery after my band surgery so I have been laying around too much. I am really getting inpatient to start seeing better results. Tammy:confused:

Hi, Thank you:cool: 12 5# bags of sugar, that's a cool way to think about it. This seems like a really good site. Tammy;)
