    First Fill

Hey yall! I am looking into getting the lapband and I am still trying to get with the lingo, whats a fill and how does that work? Thank you!
  2. Right, my cardio is through the roof though. Of course this is going to take alot of work, as does anything you want to achieve. I just don't know what will work for me. I guess I just need to go talk to a doctor, I guess I am just afraid to, which I am not sure why.
  3. Thank you both for your responses. @Marci I can really relate to you! Thanks for your imput it has helped me alot. My husband is a marine and says that I am thinking too drastically about doing something like this but will support me with whatever decision I chose. (Coming from the guy who works out for a week and loses 3 pounds! ) I am willing to do whatever it takes to be healthy again. I don't feel healthy and I hate that feeling. And at this point am ready to do whatever it will take to get me to 115 pounds again. (My healthy weight) My mother got gastric bypass about 7 years ago and I remember her talking about getting the band and the risks that were involved with it. Of course alot has changed since then but if you don't mind me asking, how does a slip happen? Is it something that can happen when working out or maybe eating too much? I am just afraid of doing sit ups and the BAM! Also, how does it go with eating? I mean don't get me wrong thanksgiving dinner is great but do you just eat smaller portions? (Kinda like gastric bypass?) Thank you so much for sharing your success story with me. Emma
  4. Hi everyone! I have been trying to do my research about the lap band to see if it is for me. I need to loose at least 60-70 pounds and have truly exhausted my resources. I have been on birth control (implant) for about 4 and a half years and have gained a HUGE amount of weight. About 3 years ago I joined the army and they said I was overweight when I was 135 pounds (I am 5'1) and when I was exercising everyday nonstop for 3 and a half months I was still 135 but SOLID muscle. I did not slim at all because of the diet I was on. So when I came home I was still working out 3 times a week and now work out at least 2 times due to the busy schedule I have. I don't eat awful or even alot but I have gainned a tremendous amount of weight and even working out does not shhed a pound. I want to still work out but hashow results. How do I know this is for me?
