I'm so tired of protein shakes but I'm only in the full liquid stage. I mixed my protein powder with FF butterscotch pudding mix, almond milk, and a teaspoon of peanut butter, blended in my magic bullet. Tastes just like a butterfinger! Yummy!

My port flipped...AGAIN!

I just left my appointment where I expected to get a fill only to be told that my port has flipped! I had my surgery in October and had to have a revision in December after my port flipped. Now I'm told that it flipped again! I was told that I haven't done anything to cause this. Apparently this "rarely happens". I'm so frustrated and upset! Has anyone else experienced this?

Lannah, I had to chime in and I hardly ever reply to these posts. I agree with you totally. I have very thick skin and I think some people's comments are just rude. The people making such comments are usually the ones who comment in every post. We all knew those kind of people in school, the know -it-alls. Are they trying to help others, really? It's really sad. I get that they may have been successful in their journey, but sometimes it borderlines on bullying.

I hear people talking about Trader Joe's all the time. Does anyone have any suggestions on tasty things to get from there?

October 2012 Bandsters
DBRN1972 replied to NYTeacher's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Going in to have the cord on my band readjusted. Apparently it was not suture correctly so now there is a huge bulge at my port site. I will also gets fill while my doctor is in there. I'm very frustrated -
Congrats! I can't wait to get there!

Ever since I was banded on 10/26/12, I thought it was odd that I could see and feel my port. I was told that it is normal, especially since my abdominal area is on the smaller side. I went for my one month post-op appointment today and when the nurse practitioner examined my incision she told me that what I thought was my port is actually the tubing from my band that is protruding. She immediately called my doctor and I was told to wait until he got in so that he could examine me. My doctor examined me and confirmed that the tubing of my band is protruding against my skin. He told me that if he does not correct it soon, the tubing will wrap around itself, eventually negating all that has been done to this point. (I've lost 25 pounds and 2 sizes since I began my journey.) So needless to say, I have to go back under next week to have this corrected. I'm very frustrated because I developed a rash around my incisions when I was banded and that rash is just now clearing up. Has anyone else ever had this issue.

That is hilarious!

I vaguely remember being told not to use a straw after surgery. Is this true? I usually use a straw and I'm having trouble not using one.

Congrats!!! And I love the shoes! -
Okay so we all know that when asked why we want to lose weight our answer usually sounds something like this..."I want to be healthy" or something like that. Am I right? Well honestly my real reason is because I want to shop! I want to never have to walk into Lane Bryant or Ashley Stewart ever again!

My shopping buddy is my 20 year old daughter who is a size 4 on a bad day. Although I do not want to be her size, I would love to shop in the same stores as her. What is your goal?

Well Floridays, I think you are all that! Your weight loss and before and after pictures are amazing and you are an inspiration! -
I was banded on 10/26/12 and just started experiencing this horrible gas pain yesterday. Nothing helps! I almost regret doing this. Someone please tell me this will end soon. I'm so frustrated and can't even have a glass of Moscato like I normally would. Help please!!

What can I have other than protein shakes during this week of full liquids? I'm so glad to be done with broth!
