Anyone Have Trouble With Mash Potatoes?
hely88 replied to Courtnin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I make my mash taters with instant mixed with low sodium chicken brother and only eat 2 oz. My mom bought steamer packs of sweet potatos for Thanksgiving and that was ok too. Sometime things you just gotta try and start out with tiny bites. -
I absolutely can not eat steak but I know some people can. I also just chew and chew and chew and then I am scared to swallow.

I could never keep the machine on but after about 50lbs I didnt need it anyway. Best of Luck

Welcome. It really depends on your insurance company. I had to jump through many hoops including writing a letter why i wanted the surgery. I have seen other people approved in days. All you can really do is contact your insurance and be patient. Best of Luck!

If You Could Only Give One Piece Of Advice To A New Bandit What Would It Be?
hely88 replied to toritz's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Mine would be dont change anything even if you hear it on this site without verifyiing it is ok with your Dr. Always follow your doctors rules (plan). Best of luck to everyone new -
Just saying if I can track anyone can. Use Mfp or spark people or any of the other apps. You are cheating yourself if you don't track.

Stuck, Slipped, Or Normal - Am I Fighting Myself?
hely88 replied to JimR915's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thanks so much for sharing . I hope you heal fast and get better soon. Keep us posted on your other surgery -
I have pain in my left shoulder alot. i am pretty sure it is gas. the nurse said to stop eating if i get that pain but i cant remember how she described it. I am 4 years out.

Iif I was having those issues it would be too full for me. That is not the way the band is supposed to work. However it is normal for many to be really tight in the morning and do a shake. I would give it some time and be really careful eating while making sure you get enough calories. I am sure your nutritionist works with other banded individuals and maybe you should trust her.

Worried That I Will Never See The Difference

You don't need money to try on -
Did really well and I am very proud of myself however I let my moms chocolate pie run me out of the house. It took seems like forever for my head to catch up to my stomach. Does anyone have any suggestion for next time other then diverting and doing something else? I didn't know head hunger could be so bad

I agree go shopping! Even if you can't afford go try some smaller sizes on! -
I know I sound like a broken record and I am sorry but you should eat what your dr says and if you are having problems or want to change just please make sure to check in wih them first. So far the last month I have been eating 500-900 calories and have lost 17.8 lbs. I am careful about the choices I make and started exercising .

Could not have said it better Mis! That is totally misusing the forrum and craapy way to treat others not to mention irresponsible and imature!

I dont know if it will help but my nurse told me to specifically eat the dark meat and when I did have white meat I put a little low cal mayo on it. Im sorry you had a bad experience but its all part of the process and hopefully you will learn from it. You also might have been chewing to fast or the pieces could have been too big. It is hard sometimes when you are with others not to pay enough attention to what you are eating.

You totally look different. Your stomache has shrunk a bunch and your face. You look amazing!! -
I eat half a cup three times a day. If you dont know what your doctor recomends you need to contact them before you start eating. Every doctor is different! Congrats on your band please make sure to follow your doctors rules.

Hi welcome welcome welcome Congrats on starting your new journey!

ignore that message because your diet isnt based on that calorie. Its still good to track, I eat between 600-900n usually and i get same message on sparkpeople which is what I use to track. Anyway my doctor tells us not to track calories just to measure my food.

Thanks so much for the support. I have taken chantix before and I agree it's great but this time I went cold turkey. I do use an electronic cig sometimes called blu. I get the o nicotine and they have a lot of fun flavors. The newest are peach schnaups and piña colada. Price is reasonable too. So glad I don't stink anymore or have to hide from my family. the electric cig really simulates smoking and is safe yo inhale.
