Cutting out sodas was just about as hard as quitting smoking. As far as tracking your foods try my fitness pal. I have a recipe group on facebook and we have a folder with snack ideas if you would like to joing. We also have a lot of people who are new to the journey as well as vetrans with lots of experience. Friend me at hely lb if you or anyone would like to join.

For me its just part of the journey. I follow the guidelines my doctor gives me and learn to tailor it more and more as I go along. Head hunger is a hard thing to get past. What helped me is drinking tons of water and slowly my brain has reconditioned. When I eat meals I make the most out of them. I love to cook and I love love to eat. I make sure I eat things I really enjoy and dont waste calories on shakes or processed foods. You are welcome to join my recipe group on Facebook just friend me at hely lb. Maybe making better choices will help you along. I have had chocolate and other treats in my house for a couple months now. I can eat one dark chocolate hershey kiss. Never in my wildest dreams did I think this would ever happen to me. Please try to keep a positive attitude and believe you can change!!!!

I believe it is a chewable tablet. I have not personally used it but I have heard a lot of people say it works. Try a health food store.

Congrats and welcome you your new journey. All doctors can and often seem to be different and that is why I am always saying follow your doctor's guidelines before you listen to anyone else. -
Glad you found a bar that works for you. I find I am doing great then BAM I have to figure out how to readjust again. It is a never ending journey, but one I am glad to be on!

I also think you should call your doctor. I sleep on my port sometimes and it can hurt for a really long time.

Weight loss can be slower in the beging because you are healing. The band does not make you lose weight. Its calories in verses calories burned. Make sure you are measuring and tracking everything you eat. Make sure you are drinking enough water because that definetly plays a part in keeping you satisfied. Make good food choices. High protein solids. Best of luck!!
-
Maybe call your insurance company. Everyone is different.
-
I met a lady the other day at the gym who had gastric bypass and looks amazing. She told me I should eat egg drop soup for protein. I am not interested but I was nice Maybe you can strain it? I would ask your doctor always if you are not sure of something.
-
Best of luck and congrats! Some things to have are low sodium broth, whatever protein drink your doctor suggests, sugar free popsicles and jello and gas-x strips if possible if not the chewable tablets.
-
Pureed food??? Blender or food Processor

Lots of people on here use the magic bullet. You should be fine. Best of luck to you! -
First of all congrats! Please know that just because you can eat something does not mean you should same with drinking with eating. I don't really understand did you not learn about the band before you got it? Didnt your doctor explain the process along with what to eat? If you get a fill and are too tight you can get an unfill. That is the purpose of having a band and not getting another surgery like bypass. Each doctor has their own guidlelines. I eat 3 half cup meals and sometimes I have a snack. A lot of people eat more about a cup. The band is there to help keep you satisfied between meals, but for most people it does not stop them from eating. I wish you the best of luck and hope you stick around the forum, but I strongly urge you to sit down with your doctor to discuss all your questions. Also do some reasearch on the internet.

Congrats. Try some gas-x and walking. I still get pain in neck and back of left shoulder when I eat too much or have a blended beverage. I am four years out.

I sent this link to my nutritionist for approval. Has anyone tried them? http://www.cytosport.com/products/muscle-milk/muscle-milk-light-bars

Congrats on what you have done so far. You might not feel anything until you get back on solids. Just make sure to follow your doctor's instructions.

Congrats and good luck. Most people start on liquids and your doctor should have given you a list of things to have. Make sure you read through all your paperwork. -
This is your second chance and you are really lucky to get it. Follow your doctor's guidelines if you want to succeed. If you are supposed to be on liquids you have no business eating solids.
