Does anyone else just sometimes...forget you have a band?
hely88 replied to nikils015's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When I am really hungry or in a hurry I always have to stop myself from eating too fast or I will pay for it. It happens sometimes but I take it as a reminder. -
Also make sure you are drinking a lot of water. Very important!

The link Mis gave you is awesome. And I agree that if you feel full you have probably eaten too much. It takes a while to get used to what satisfy feels like. That is why it is so important that you measure your food so you know when to stop. Eventually I learned that feeling and can stop most times on my own.

lunch and dinner meal ideas for work ??

I used to use the Tyson also until I started watching my salt intake. Much better to buy fresh set a time aside to cook a bunch then freeze portions. Cutting down salt and processed foods will help you feel satisfied longer and retain less fluids. Also do not forget to get your water in. That too will help you with hunger. I like to cook a big pot of something for the week. A lot of times I just make things up. Quinoa is also great and I add it to almost everything. -

Be careful using injury chicken it has close to the same amount sodium you should have in one day from just one serving. Sodium can cause a lot of problems as well as halting your weightless . -
That sucks!! Hang in there and take care of yourself!

Have you tried playing around with your calorie intake? Are you measuring all your foods and tracking? Have you seen a nutritionist. Dont give up and dont take diet drugs.

What kinds of things are you eating?
-
I only drink shakes every once in a while stick mainly to solids. I like pure protein, unjury and nectar. You can also mix protein powder with sf jello pudding cups. I used high protein slim fast per my surgoen right after sugery but I think some of the other shakes are better. Did you ask your doctor for a list of shakes or a guideline of what to look for?

I eat beans, refried beans, Tuna light in water, canned chicken, eggs, cottage cheese. I dont blend anything because I think you are supposed to start chewing but that just my opinion. Greek yogurt is good and has protein, sf pudding. I mix my protein mix with jello instant pudding cups.

Let's Talk Straws....
hely88 replied to Spaness2012's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was told never to use straws again. If you like the straws see how it works for you and then decide. -
Try isopure. Also sometimes I mix my protein with sf jello prepared pudding and sometimes I add pb2. Also try experimenting wtih shakes. You can use sf ff instant pudding mixes or sf syrups, pb2 or even yogurt. Protein is very important from now on. Of course by the time you get to mushy and solids you really need to be eating your protein not drinking it.

My nutritionist told me to write down in my tracker how long each meal satisifes me and that will help you and the doctor decide if you need a fill. Remember everyone is different. Some people have no fills, some a few and some have a lot. You have to figure out what is right for you as you go.

I have a recipe group on fb if you would like to join and I would be happy to help you find some recipes. If you like friend me on fb at hely lb and then message me.

I have water bottles by my bed. By the time I get out of bed I usually have drank around 40 ounces. I am a true believer that I should drink 64 oz before i drink any other type of drink. My go to lately as been low calorie gatorade. I put it in the freezer for a while and then shake it up and its like a tasty slushy. I know gatorade has 40 clalories per 16 oz bottle but with my calorie intake I am not really worried about it.

My sister in law had the same problem and they finally diagnosed her with some type of hormone problem. She had to take shots throughout all her pregnancies. It was really hard for her because she is tiny and taking the shots were hard but she had 3 beautiful angels. Don't give up. Maybe see a different doctor? Wish you the best success and happiness.

I use half cup containers for all my food. I agree larger servings now look huge!!

My question is what are you eating? Once you are healed you should be eating solids. Please post some of your meals so we can see what you are consuming.
