If you are on solids you should be eating your protein not drinking them. I know sometimes its good to fall back on but in my opinion should not be all the time. Sometimes I mix protein mix with my sf pudding as a snack. I bought pure protein at a local grocery store and it was very inexpensive and tastes good.

Usually you lose more at the begining. Everyone is different. I am 4 years banded and got back on track at the end of October. I have lost over 10 lbs a month since I started back. Best of luck to you!

YES!!

If I am hungry and it is not meal time I drink water. If I am still hungry after that I eat a smart (high protein) snack. I do not believe in feeling hungry or deprived.

Sometimes I have problems with scrammbled eggs. It helps if I whisk them with skim milk, but lately my band does not like them. Per my doctor I dont eat pasta, rice or popcorn. I sometimes take a taste of bread but do not eat much. I agree that I dont eat any dry meats and I cook almost all my meals . I am going to Outback for dinner and hope to try the seared tuna appetizer. I am excited because I do not go out to eat often. I love quinoa!

Again Mis you are the voice of reason and I totally agree with you. If you eat now when you are not hungry you need to know that the band does not stop you from eating. It will help you feel satisfied between meals but you have to learn to control the rest.

I would like to know why the decimals do not work when I enter my weight in on the profile . I do not know about anyone else but I worked hard on those decimals. If I enter one it moves me to the next pound. I have emailed twice asking about it and never received a reply. Can anyone help me?

Quinoa is great. It is a grain that is gluten free and has protein. There is also a quinoa pasta I have not tried yet.

I have a friend who was stuck and exercising. Even though she was exercising her doctor suggested her heart rate might not be getting high enough Maybe consider getting a heart rate montior to monitor your cardio. Polar makes a really good brand. Best of Luck!

Anyone have any restrictions on first fill?
hely88 replied to Beth A's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There really isnt one answer to your question. Some people never need a fill. Some need one, some a few and some a lot. Everyone is different. Make sure you are eating the correct foods (high protein solids) and measuring and tracking your foods. Give your body time enough to register that you have fed it. Usually takes about 20-30 minutes. If you need more fills make sure you get what you need. Best of Luck to you! -
Sorry I dont have an answer for you. Where in VA are you from?

My doctor gave me a guideline to use when looking for the best shakes. Maybe you can see if he/her has one. All shakes are not the same. I like pure Protein, unjury and nectar. It is a good time to be creative. You can use sugar free pudding mixes, syrups and even PB2 (a Peanut Butter flour) to flavor your shakes. Let us know when you find one you like Also some people like Isopure. http://www.theisopurecompany.com/en/drinks http://www.lap-band-surgery-site.com/bariatric-protein-shakes.html

Hoping today will be the 1st day to the rest of my life...
hely88 replied to tmposton's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would try to keep busy while you wait. Think positive. I really hope you can get approved to start a better life. I also agree reading through forum, visiting the chat room and searching on line. Just remember every doctor is different is different so when you start listen to what your doctor tells you first. Best of luck to you!! -

Being satisfied is one of the hardest things to learn. It really helps me to measure my foods all the time because I can eat over but I choose not too. I dont need more. Also remember that your brain takes about 20-30 minutes to register the food in your tummy. When I am very hungry I try to take 5 minute break in the middle to help the process.

I wonder way there are so many different pre- op diets?
hely88 replied to Mrs.LadyPrice's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It seems there are almost as many guidelines as there are doctors. You will find that all the time on the forum. Nice to see what others do. Congrats and best of luck! -
Dry Chicken solution?
hely88 replied to ireallywannabthin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you are talking mushies I dont think chicken other then canned chicken applies. Even now 4 years out if I go out with family or friends I make sure the place we go has soup options. I dont really have an issure with chicken unless it is over cooked. You also might want to try thighs. Also crock pot recipes are really great and easy. -
Throw that scale away!!!
hely88 replied to JhonnieB's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I will not and can not weigh myself every day but through this site I have learned that everyone is different and some people find themselves more accountable to weigh more often then I do. Same thing with calories. If I had to count the numbers would trip me. I understand for most it is a neccesity. -
