Ok so this has been a very stressful process for me. I have asked people and looked online and at CVS. I decided to try Nuance a line developed by Selma Hayek for CVS. I only have seen good reviews and she seems very passionate about her line. I picked a cleanser there are a few to choose from then a retinal capsule finished with her anti aging Super Cream Am/pm. I still need to find a tinted lotion for the day. Her products are much less then others and today they were buy one get one half price. I do itch a tiny bit but my face is probably in shock that I am paying attention to it. I am 46 and I have never used products. Just wash face in shower with dove. To the touch my face feels silky smooth. So shall see. Any suggestions for a tinted day lotion with SPF? I think my mom uses a loreal. The one problem with these products is it seems no store carries all the products or even the same ones. They do sell then amazon but I haven't looked through them yet.

I did not ever have to take really small bites until my last fill. I still do not take as small as an eraser but I am much more careful about chewing well. It is important to eat slow. I always put my fork or spoon down between bites. Sometimes I also take a five minute break half way through. Remember it takes about 20 minutes for your brain to register what you eat. I agree totally with Zin's advice. I also always measure because if I do not I do not always know when to stop eating. Best of luck. Take your time and enjoy your food. You also might want to go to liquids for a day or two to let your stomach recover from your difficult times.

I think you answered your own question.

I am always told full liquids for one day then one day mushy then solids. Also stay in touch with how you are feeling. Sometimes it is easier to move on and sometimes you need to give yourself a little bit more time. -
Move as much as possible. Walk as much as you can. You have gas left from what they pumped in you for the surgery. The more you move the better you will feel. Hang on it will only get better!

You might need a lactose free shake. It is very common. Hopefully someone will post suggestions. Hang in there!

Yes you will get better and better and better. Try to walk and move around as much as possible to get rid of the built up gas from surgery. Congrats on starting your journey! -
I have no problem eating shrimp but I remember someone telling me the other day that their doctor told them not to eat it because some people have problems. Something about it can be stringy. Everyone is definitely different.

Anyone else Blog? How did you come out to your friends and family about having LapBand?
hely88 replied to Suzzie81498's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My family was part of the entire process. They have been very supportive of me even when I did not do very well. I send a weekly update to them after my weigh in. I do find that now I have lost a lot of weight I do not tell a lot of new people anymore. Tired of explaining it. -
I use Spark People

Way to go! I find it easier to always have my meals with me in case I can not eat or do not want to eat what is being served. Great job taking control! I do agree you probably could have eaten some of what was there but some times it is also too much a temptation. -
I think your body can only absorb so much protein at one time but I am not sure how much or how that works.

Happy Easter to all who celebrate. I hope you all have a wonderful stress free day!

Yeah you are OK. It just takes time for your body to heal. Congrats on your surgery!

Sorry you are having trouble. First of all you do not want to be full. If you are full you have eaten too much. For me learning what it feels like to be satisfied is often a work in progress and I am four years out. I find the best thing for me is to measure my food so I know when to stop. Trust me it does get better. Try to keep yourself busy after you eat and remember it takes about 20 minutes for your brain to register the food you have eaten. Sometimes I take a five minute break half way through a meal especially if I am really hungry starting off. Hang in there.

I agree with your point but I never cooked until recently. At least not healthy. Tha is why I enjoy hosting the recipe group. I learn so much looking through them and also sharing ideas with others. I try to stay away from processed foods now. Before that is mostly what I ate. My mother way back when did not cook very healthy and I have had no one to teach me.
