May need to check for a slip if your doctor did not already do so.

Good for you. I read your posts all the time. I would not choose my experience to be like yours.

I wish I never was hungry but then I guess I would not enjoy my food as much.

You can take tylenol but not with or near your pain meds because I think that has Tylenol in it. Definately ask dr or pharmacist. Never rely on forrum for those types of questions.

I never had a purée stage went from full liquids to mushy.

I had a quinoa tabouli today from a health food store it was amazing and had absolutely no problems with it.
-
I was just wondering how many of you use quinoa instead of rice? It is a gluten free grain that contains some protein.

My Lap Band Journey
hely88 replied to LadyOphelia1988's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Congrats on your surgery!! You might need a lactose free protein shake. A lot of people have problems with shakes due to lactose. Also check out Isopure drinks. You can get them at the Vitamin Shoppe and google to find out where else. -
Congrats and good luck to all of you! Your JOURNEY begins. Right on!!

Congrats and Good Luck! -
A lot of how satisfied you feel depends on what food you eat. The band was made to work with solids and most people can do this with no problems. You will go through a lot of trial and error as you figure out what works for you.

Anyone have or had a flipped port?
hely88 replied to JARS517's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have so experienced that. My port is flipped and I felt like my nurse was wrestling me trying to get the needle out once she got it in. I have had my band for 4 years and I have talked to others who have had them a while who also have flipped port. I hate going for fills now and hope I don't need one for a while if not ever. -
Please let us know what your doctor says.

I have trouble at night around bed time. Think is has to do with one of my medications. I try really hard to have healthier things to eat. There are many times when I dont feel like I can stop myself, but I am better at the choices I make. Best of luck to you and thanks for sharing.

Hey Country looking forward to chatting with you. Best of luck you have started an amazing journey!! -
Awesome!! It does not really hurt but don't look at the needle any way. Make sure to check with doctor about how you should eat next few days.

Yeah I have a friend on here who has had no fills and has lost over 60 lbs since December. She can eat more things then I can and she can eat more but is very careful. She also exercises a lot. Mis is right there are people who never need fills. There was a lady at my first group who had lost over 150 with no fills. Keep us posted!! Dont forget most of us can eat more then we should but we chose to stop. The band will not stop this for most.
-
Well your description is right on with your nephew and you look amazing yourself! Way to go!!

I agree. Sometimes I eat and dont realize I am stuck till I drink water. A lot of people have problems with eggs. I usually make egg salad or have scrambled eggs whisked with some skim milk. Try liquids the rest of the day or until you feel better.

I just eat regular food high protein half cup meals 3 days and I have a healthy snack with nuts/seeds/fruit at night. I try to find healthy recipes. I eat a lot of ground turkey and beans. Just have to learn to make good choices. Your doctor will tell you how much to eat and how often. They should also hook you up with a nutritionist. Everyone is different and so is every doctor. Best of luck to you!
