When will I start feeling better?
hely88 replied to twtabby's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I totally agree with Cheznoel. Try to walk as much as possible. Most painful part is the gas. Try taking gas-x chewable or strips. Hope you feel better soon!! -
Wow I am very suprised at your doctor! I was given a book way before surgery that explains everything including all stages. I started with clear liquids and carnation intant breakfast mixed with non fat dry milk. If I was you I would think about calling the doctor. Best of luck to you.

You should be proud of yourself !! That is huge! I do not know you and I am very proud of you. I find it very had to eat out with my family. The kids eat so much and they always start out with french fries. If I eat one I am a gonner. Thanks very much for sharing your story!!!!

Unfortunately it is a very personal decison we each have to make. Please talk to your doctor and any other support you have to make the right decision for you. You are the only one who can really make the choice. Best of luck to you.

Anyone experience bleeding
hely88 replied to everydayigiveitmybest's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you are worried or have questions you should call your doctor right away. We can offer opinions or advice but as far as I know there are no band doctors or nurses on forum. -
So I started working out on Monday. I feel sore but amazing. I havent worked out since I lost about 100 lbs so its amazing how much more I am able to do. I don't eat a lot of food. Basically three half cup meals which I sometimes do not finish and a nut/seed/fruit (very healthy) snack after dinner. I have come to accept I need to ad a shake and for those who know me know I hate drinking calories. My question is do I drink shake before or after workout? My trainer said to eat something an hour before which sometimes works with my meal time. If not I have a greek yogurt. I can not afford to see a nutritionist so was wondering what kind of ideas you all have and what do you do? Thank you in advance. Hoping to fly past 100 at next weigh in on Tuesday.

I was also told to do citrate not carbonate but my nurse did say carbonate is better then taking nothing. I can not afford any of the citrate I have found.

Need some nutrition help with working out
hely88 replied to hely88's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hate to tell you this but a lot of people do it. If it is important enough you make the time. Maybe you need to include your family in your exercise program -
For me drinking water I's the absolute worst thing I can do. That is just me.

Mostly chicken is all in how you prepare it. Crock pots are usualy the best ways. You want to eat moist chicken. Some people prefer dark meat to white because of this. Just make sure you take small bites and you chew really well. I in general stay away from all dry meats. Pork is the worst for me.

Congrats!! Just a little comment. Can you please break your post up into paragraphs next time? Its really hard to read. I saw you are using beano you might want to try gas-x. Hope you feel better soon!!

17 Days post-op and Diarrhea???
hely88 replied to Kimmipuff's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with immodium!! I have always had diarreah my entire life until I stared eating better and cut out most processed foods. -
I did the same thing. First thing is to call your doctor and talk to them explain what has happened. They will most likely want to work with you. You need to have them check your band to make sure you are ok then see if you need a fill. Start back following the guidelines asap. This has to be a change of life for you not a diet. I got back on track and did not look back and did very well. You can too if you really want to. Be honest with yourself and with your doctor. Feel free to message me at hely lb on facebook if you need some suggestions. If I can do it anyone can!!

Patience! just follow your doctors guidlines. I have been eating that way since end of October and have lost about 50lbs. It will be easier when you get to solids and have more food choices.

If you find out let me know. It is soooo expensive and tastes nasty. I found at Vitamin Shoppe and also Amazon but the doses are so low you have to take several a day.
-
Did you reheat in the microwave? Tuna can be very dry specially if you eat it the next day. Try to move around see if it passes then maybe try liquids for the rest of the day.

Anybody from Richmond, Va or surrounding areas who would like to start a coffee group with me or join one? I would love to make some new friends and share ideas and recipes. I will volunteer to do the planning unless anyone else would like to help!
