  3. I'm so excited & I just cannot hide it!! SO i have around 4 weeks until my surgery date. Does anyone have any tips and pointers... like do i need to purchase anything specific. I know my nut was talking about trying out some different Protein shakes and such but i have yet to do that. Where can I purchase some good trial packets of powders so I can try a bunch of different ones. I am going to start drinking more Water now to get used to how much i need to intake - and also taking more time to chew my food. I am quick eater and I keep eating until my stomach finally realizes how full I actually am Anyone else a April 26th sleever? Thanks all
  4. they originally scheduled me for the 13th for surgery but my boss was not having that. She's been kind of difficult. She's telling me that it's not a good time but honestly will it ever be? I have to do this for me and my health and she just needs to understand that.
  5. I have my pre-op appointment on the 15th. It's so crazy how quickly everything moves. I have to do a 5 day liquid diet before my surgery.

  7. Hi everyone - I work in retail as a manager. I am on my feet for 9-10 hours a day and am constantly on the go at work. I was reading in some of my literature about surgery and such that some people take out of work for as much as 5 weeks. I know it depends on my dr. and what he suggests. Can anyone give me some insight into how long they were out? I'm 23. My boss keeps asking me about how much time i'll need off of work and shes even gone as far as telling me I can't have my surgery the month of April because she has to go on vacation and has a lot of meetings. I guess I'm just looking for some input about how everyone let their work know they are leaving. Did you need to take a leave of absence? I'm full of questions regarding this part of the process. Thank you in advance Krystal
  8. It's a national company. She told me that March wasn't ideal because we had inventory so I took my time because I understood that. Now she's saying that April isn't great because her vacation and another managers vacation. I don't want to get in trouble or anything because I need to have this surgery at a time that is not a good time for her. I've printed a bunch of paperwork about requested a LOA. Once I get approval from BCBSIL (hopefully this week) I will reach out to my HR rep.
  9. I've called BCBSIL 3 times. Surgery was submitted 03/15. Called today - its in for review. I'm so anxious! Hopefully I hear good news tomorrow :)

hang in there and don't cross your eyes! fingers, toes, etc is fine but not the eyes!!!

I also have BCBS and it was relatively a pretty quick response (less than 10 days) GOOD LUCK!

  10. So, a requirement by my surgeon is to have 5 years of medical records - which I don't have. My coordinator let me know since I didn't have health insurance for a while and have not visited a dr. in a long time that I can write a quick letter letting them know why I don't have any records. Did anyone else have to do this? I'm not sure what to write or how long it should be. I am in need of some input!
  11. Does anyone know what to put down on the paper?
  12. just did my pysch eval today - it was the last step before submitting to insurance. fingers crossed!

Relax and be honest. They just want to be sure you don't have some hidden mental disease and do understand some of the struggles you will face. Ongoing therapy is a HUGE part of the process if you like them and can continue to go - pre and post surgery.

    Looking for buddy

Hi all. I'm krystal! I had my consultation 01/28/16. Tomorrow is my meeting with NUT & psych on thursday. I am at 350 and so nervous to start - I have no idea what to expect and so grateful to be on this journey. I would love to make some buddies who are going through the same thing. Its hard to find people near my age at 23.
  16. Hi all, My first consultation is tomorrow and I'm so nervous. What should I expect? I have BCBS Illinois and does anyone know the process and requirements? Any suggestions? Tyia Krystal
  17. Hello! I'm very new to the process of Lap-Band Surgery. Just recently I am becoming more intertested in having the surgery. I've been overweight all my life; I've tried every diet possible, but I just can't lose the weight. I'm only 20 and about 290lbs. I have so many questions and was hoping someone out there can help me before I go any further into the process. I have been looking at the True Results Center in The Woodlands, Texas and have read many reviews on Ken Hollis. I'm very nervous about how difficult it can be to be approved for the surgery. I'm terrified if I were to go through with it that they would decline me. (I've never had a good experience with a DR, so i'm hoping that he is a kind man and not to harsh). I've read about the pre-surgery process and the length of the process. Some people take months and for others, it takes only a few weeks? Is there a reason behind that? Unfortunately, I don't have health insurance. How exactly does Self-Pay work through the True Results program, and do I need a down payment for the sugery? I know I have a lot of questions. I'm extremely excited to maybe find a way to change my life for the better. I'm ready for a new beginning and a brand new ME! Thanks! -Krystal

How quickly did it take you? And did you need a down payment?

    Self Pay Houston, Tx

Hello! I was thinking about doing self-pay in Houston. Most likely the True Results facility. Any idea if you need a down payment and how quickly can you get started after the consultation.
