Success smells and look sooooo sweet.

That is my motivational thought-- "I am NOT where I use to be". It keeps me going. -
You look so much younger!

1 year bandiversary, 110 pounds gone!
Lori4080 replied to akurre12's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
You look amazing! Congrats on your success. I also wondered if you had plication done. Seems people who've gotten that have an advantage over those of us who don't. So happy to see someone with only the band have great success! -
3rd Fill and still no restriction :/
Lori4080 replied to MandySha's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I did not spend thousands of dollars to DO IT ON MY OWN. Why would anyone do that? If I am doing my part, then I expect the band to do its part -- being satisfied on less amounts of food. Nothing is going to stop any of us from eating the wrong things and won't take away head hunger. What I'm saying FOR ME is it has taken awhile to even notice a difference. SOME people might relate to that, but not everyone. My advise is patience and perseverance. I believe the band works but only with the correct fill, which is different for everyone. -
3rd Fill and still no restriction :/

I was banded December 17, 2012 with a 14 oz band. I'm currently at 9 oz and finally feeling at least something. I was getting very discouraged for sure. I didn't get the band to diet and lose the weight on my own. I have some hope now the band will start kicking in and doing its part. I'm down 25 lbs. but guaranteed there was no help from my band. -
Thank you for your courage to post your pics. They are great!

Hi Wade, I had my surgery as planned in Blackfoot. I just wanted to tell you what a wonderful experience it was. Everyone was very nice and attentive. The massage was wonderful for the pain in my shoulder. Couldn't have gone better. Lost 20 lbs so far. First fill on the 5th of February. Hope that goes smooth. How are you doing?

I love the low carb Isopure shakes. You don't even need a blender, they mix up great with just a spoon. -
Oh, and love the new profile pic!

How are you feeling today, MsRhonda? I've heard one strain of the flu only lasts 24 hours, but it is bad. Hope you're feeling better.

It's amazing the comments we remember. I heard an elementary teacher tell another student that I would have a hard time having having children if I didn't lose weight!?!? It haunted me for years...until my three beautiful children came along - no problem. I can tell you the person's names, the place and time they asked, "when are you due?" I would never ask someone that unless they told me directly they were pregnant. Whew...don't like going down that memory lane.

Your posts always make me smile. I love your attitude. Hope you stick around for a long time here. -
I was banded a week ago Monday and this has happened to me. I can even be bending wrong or turn the wrong way. The pain goes away quickly but I'm reminded to take it a little easier. If you continue to have the pain, please call your doctor. Best wishes.

Rhonda, you look wonderful! It's a motivation for me. I would just say take one meal at a time, one bite at a time. It gets overwhelming, but it looks like you've had great success so far! Best of luck

Please let us know how you are doing. I was sitting here feeling sorry for myself not getting to do last minute Christmas things (4 days out) and I read your post. Puts things in perspective. Wishing you all the very best in dealing with this critical time. Do you know neighbors or affiliate with a church? People really do want to help, especially this time of year.

I was banded Monday. My nurse gave me some anti-anxiety meds in my IV while still in my room. It was great! I would NOT have liked being aware of things in the OR room before surgery. I also got a massage after surgery. That helped so much with the shoulder pain! Now its just the hernia incision that gets me the most.

I'm making chicken stock today in preparation for Monday. (!) The store bought stuff is so high in sodium! Plus hope this tastes better. I'm using Mrs Dash and herbs. I think I have everything ready to go. I know I wouldn't be nearly as informed/prepared for this without you all. A BIG thanks to all the contributors. My Dr. And nurses are amazed at the tips I (you) tell them about. I hope they pass some of them on to their other patients. Best wishes for Monday Bandsters! Please post to let us know how it goes!

I met with my Dr. today for the last meeting before surgery (17th). The conversation turned to me giving him advise! "Please don't stay out late on Sunday" , Do you feel well? Drink lots of Orange juice this week. He just laughed and said I was going to do great. But still...

Day 5 and I'm Still Alive {Pre-Op Diet}
Lori4080 replied to phdizzle's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Five days down for me too. And 8.5 pounds down! My doctor is really strict about losing pre-op weight. I had to lose 10, so I'm feeling less anxious about that. Op date 12/17 -
Thanks! jmb, I didn't think of having the use of my legs. Good point. I'm a bit worried about the after pain. My husband is not supportive so I can't be complaining at all. I'm taking every tip I've read here to minimize it. So, so grateful to have this wonderful site! I have a feeling I'll be checking in quite often.
