Congratulations! I can't wait for my first 5k. I am trying to get my self in shape for that now. That is so awesome you inspire people like me, thank you. I have only lost 71 lbs but I just keep hitting a lot of stalls and not really drinking enough Water sometimes. I think I was falling back into old habits. I am back on track now and losing, exercising and drinking my water, watching what I'm eating also. Jenipher!

My Story... For better or worse
Jenipher replied to Yasmine's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Wow is all I can say..... I'm speechless my problems are nothing compared to what you were and still are going through. But I have to agree with you on losing myself in my titles. I am guilty of that as well as women we take our roles very seriously. Our families need us to keep it together. You would think that the way we take care of them they would reciprocate some of the attention back to us. But we are on our own at least we have each other. Thank you for sharing your very inspiring to us all. You could have continued feeding your problems with food but you turned it all around and said ok enough already!!! My son's father is Puerto Rican and he cheated on me a lot when we were together. I finally just said enough already and I haven't looked back since. He regrets it every time he has to look in my face and see me happy with someone else. He knows his cheating broke up our family. I've been married to a faithful man for 14 yrs now. Thank you for making me appreciate him all the more. God will carry you through your storm nothing is to heavy for him!! Keep moving and losing to bring you happiness, you deserve it. Jenipher -

GREEK OR YOPLAIT... WHICH ONE HAS MORE PROTEIN
Jenipher commented on TD41's blog entry in TD41's Blog
Greek yogurt I like the Fage Greek yogurt personally. Soft scrambled eggs, laughing cow cheeses, shredded chicken the dark meat is actually softer but use the beast if you prefer you just need to boil it longer so its real tender. Cottage cheese, oatmeal, cream of rice, mashed potatoes, (sweet or regular). Overly cooked veggies and then mash them, mashed banana. I did a lot of soups mostly veg and chicken broth. That's mostly all I did. Let me just say this if you cheat you will regret it . Lol!! Your brain will say i can eat that and then your stomach will remind you no you can't. I been there and done that. After I slimed for a while and then threw up I was back on track. Lol!! I'm sure everything will go well for you wishing you the best. Just take it slow. Jenipher -

Preparation before the big day
Jenipher commented on Capricornrose's blog entry in Capricornrose's Blog
I think committing to some form of physical activity if its just a walk in the park. Your motivator is sitting right next to you, your beautiful dog. Walk a mile with your dog everyday and make sure you start off slow pace then work your way into more fast pace. Do it before work which is best for me or after. You really have to take a look at yourself and say what time of day am I really willing to make this happen. I bought some dumb bells and put them on my side under the bed so I never have an excuse not to do some form of exercise. I sit in bed and do arm exercises. You can look up a lot of different ones on line. You would be amazed at how much my muscle tone has improved just by making that adjustment. Or put them some where they are very visible like almost in your way kind of thing so you will use them. Get some leg weights and wear them once you start walking more aggressively. Just a start if you have a specific question don't hesitate to ask. I hope this helped! Jenipher -
Newly sleeved 1/11 and kinda miserable!

Just your medicine cups to keep track of your intake. This will keep you hydrated and you will be full really easily we all were. Mostly it's from the swelling in your stomach you just had major surgery. This is how your going to lose so much weight fast. Take it easy and just do what you were told to do during your pre op appt at the hospital. If you feel unsure call your NUT (nutritionist) but honestly it just takes time. Using your medicine cups will insure you don't drink to much. Listen to your body stop when you feel full it will get better once the swelling goes down this is all brand new to you. You will be fine. I hope this helps don't hesitate to ask a question. Jenipher -

I think magnesium would help you. I got mine from the health food store. It works fast to I took the 250 mg just one with some Water and 10 minutes later I was releasing. This worked for me you can try it if you like it also comes in liquid and some times they carry it flavored. Also I started taking a spoon full of flaxseed oil everyday that keeps me soft just add it to your Protein shake you don't even taste it. I get that from trade Jose's at a good price. I hope this helps. Jenipher -
What are you eating and are you drinking enough Water? Are you exercising? Whenever I have a stall is usually cause I'm eating the wrong foods like to many carbs. Try going back to your pre op diet just the shakes and Jello, water, broth you know stuff like that. Jenipher

That's great keep up the good work. You are looking great and the exercise makes me have more energy too. Last week I worked out so much each day I didn't want to stop I was able to last 30 min to an hour longer than I usually do. It's a great feeling. Jenipher!
