How well do you tolerate soda after banding?
Blondie638 replied to PraisingHim's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Think about your question. Your asking how well do u tolerate. Anything you have to say: tolerate, for.. I don't think should have to be used. Definition if tolerate: something that one does not like or agree with. Listen to your body. Don't make it "tolerate" soda. This is the time to give back to your body and give it what it needs! -

HELLO! NEW HERE! Scared to try Lap Band! Any stories to go for or against would be SOO HELPFUL!
Blondie638 replied to CWinkler340's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Im 5 weeks out and almost down 30 lbs. (i lost a lot of weight on the pre op diet). Its a big decision. One that i had to really think about. I read all of the possibilities of things going wrong and was scared by it. I decided ti go ahead and get banded. Even if in five years, ten years or even six months if something horrible happens and i have to get the band removed then i figured it was worth it. Obesity is a huge problem and i was headed up and up the scale. I couldnt stop. I woulda died or even if not died i woulda continued to live my life in the corner, quiet, and blending in with the crowd. I wanted to be invisible. So even if the worst comes and i have complications or have to get iy taken out im going to be thankful for the new life its let me enjoy. And continue to have. Its a decision only you can make. People on this forum tend to be more positive which is great but to find the complications and risks youll have to google or youtube. Hope this helped. Message me if you need anything!!! -

Almost to green zone!
Blondie638 replied to Blondie638's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Andrea, i was thinking about that today. How ive lost this weight but of course i wanted to lose more. Similar to you i guess. But then i thought about how i lose 30lbs in the past on my own and then gained it back. And i wonder if its because i lost it to quick. Clearly i didn't change my lifestyle habits good enough. I think this time... For us anyway. Is a time to focus on healing. And, making lifestyle changes. I havent been an overnight im gonna change person. Ive just been trying to make better choices. What about you? -
My dr today said im almost to the green zone! She gave me a fill so now I'm at 5cc's! I cant wait! 5 weeks post op and down 27 lbs total (with pre op diet) Woootie woot! I do have a stitch sticking out of one of my incisions which is weird. But she said its normal and it will dissolve.

Damn this is a forum for support. Stip judging people because they made a mistake. She knows she did. She should just move on from it. Sounds like your not stocked up with the Right foods. Do u have veggies? V8's maybe? sugar free juices? Stuff for smoothies etc? Make sure u set yourself up for success. I was in the same boat right after surgery. I was barely hungry and had yo force myself to eat. Your body needs nutrients to heal properly. Coke and cheese soup isnt going to give ur body what it needs. Make sure to pack ur fridge with a variety of food so u can be successful! Best of luck to u! If u ever need someone to talk to u can email me. Instead of listening to people ridicule you!

Smoothies and beans! -
Not to scare u. Just trying to tell u what i heard. But one of my customers said he got an ekg done for some other reason. And they found an abnormality bc he had a heart attack a while back. He didn't even know he had one. Im sure there are a million reasons why someone could have an abnormality. That was just his situation

Looked into getting a personal trainer bc im nervous about the extra skin and maybe learn a more structured workout. He said it was 80 per hour and recommends in the beginning meeting at least once a week. Truth is i just cant afford that right now. I still have about 4k to pay for the surgery. Any suggestions? Im pretty concerned about this extra skin but just cant afford an extra 80 a week. :/
