Okay, retard just mentioned that there is an unsaid warranty clause. You know, if something goes wrong and it points at the physician screwing something up, fine, go... You know what? I'm not going to even go into this. If I keep reading this LAite's "give me attention" story, it's going to annoy me all day and I'm going to go off and write a post that would probably get me kicked out of here. haha.

Okay, from a guy's point of view: DON'T DUMB YOURSELF DOWN. For the love of god, if you want a guy who is intelligent, don't do that. Not ever. For me, at least, people of any sex who are dumb are remarkably annoying. haha. If you're looking for a good guy, don't change yourself. Confidence is good, cockiness is bad. Find a guy who has a similar taste in humor. Don't take your standards down. If you're looking for a guy who has a certain quality, don't ignore it. Remember, this is important to you. Find the guy with a little ambition in his life. You get the point... Find the important things you're looking for and find them. I'm not going to sit here and tell you that I know everything and I'm like every guy out there, but I will tell you that I am MUCH more likely to be attracted to a girl who is willing to put herself out there socially and be confident than someone who sits in the corner and keeps to herself. I'm not talking about a girl who is the life of the party because that's too much, but someone who can keep an interesting conversation going. I'm sorry, I'm sure you know all this, but the subject matter came up. I figured I'd toss in my two cents.

Hi, Everyone....I think I'll be the contrarian voice here...
neveragain replied to Headhunter's topic in Rants & Raves
See, what you don't seem to understand is that if you come into somewhere with the pro-WLS and have an anti-WLS connotation, not to mention have the verbiage of a publicist who is trying to pry some emotions and thoughts out of a community, how do you expect everyone to react? I want to believe you, I really do. Like WasABubbleButt said, what happened isn't impossible and does rarely occur, but when the account of it is presented like it was, it sounded like you were just trying to provoke some reaction. My suggestion is to learn how to convey what you would like to convey without sounding like a salesman. The sad part about all of this is that, despite what you want to think, you are a statistic. Remember that .05% that I mentioned? Well, you are part of the 5 out of 10,000 surgeries that drew the short stick. I do wish you the best. Godspeed. -
I'm so happy that you guys feel the same way. I was starting to feel bad there for a minute. haha. I just LOATHE people who say that kind of crap. He's missing a lot of stuff. He doesn't mention who the doctor was or HALF of what he claims is sooooo poor. Not to mention, his anatomy is screwed up for someone who has done "extensive research considering the subject". Among MANY other things that drive me up the wall. haha. Moron.

HeadHunter, I'm sorry, but I smell bullshit. You are pretty well educated on the subject, I'll give you that, but there are some things that just don't mix. Either that or you're just not a brilliant Lap Band patient. Do complications happen? Absolutely they do. It's surgery. Sometimes the body won't like it. It's absolutely possible for surgeons to make mistakes, too, and they do happen. Keep in mind that it is possible for a patient to screw it up, too. Especially when things are SHOVED down. Complications can quickly arise after that, especially when you're not too far out post-op. Now, statistically, complication rates are AMAZINGLY small because of the minimal invasive nature of this surgery to begin with. The long term complications are almost NEVER because of the surgeons. If they are going to happen, it's most likely going to be within a couple of weeks post-op. They are predominantly because we are idiots with food and eat too much too fast or shove stuff down. Look, I don't want to sound like I'm a raving a-hole, but I can't help it. There's no way in hell that the band is going to go away in five years. The success rates have been amazingly high, the complication rates have been remarkably low, and so have the death rates. We're talking sub-.05%, and that's the higher number I have come across over the year I've had it. Providing that this really happened, I'm really sorry to hear about the pain and suffering you've gone through, I really am. Here's my thing, though. You can't just come in here with an amazingly huge vibe that screams anti-band and not have people question whether it really happened or not. Especially, my friend, when certain things don't mix and your answers are kind of spotty. I'm not going to start a huge argument with you over this, but I will tell you that until you come up with something a little better, more disclosed, and more accurate, I don't buy it. Plus, had I not gotten a vibe from the very beginning, I wouldn't have said anything. Oh, and that doctor sounds like it was a bad decision to go with in the first place... -
Unless there is another reason why he is having you do that, there is NO reason in the world why you should be taking that much. In fact, that's kind of dangerous because it is possible to overdose yourself on vitamins. I would talk to the doctor and have him tell you so you can tell us why.
-
Soooooooooo tasty. We have one here, too. Mmmmmmmmmmmmness. haha.
-
Unless there's a reason why you're taking that many different ones, why are you not taking a multivitamin, now?
-
You know, I was thinking really hard about throwing a mildly entertaining sarcastic remark into the mix...however, I may have to agree. haha. 292 sex = uncomfortable and self conscious 210 sex = giggity giggity, alright. :crying: Ignoring every other reservation I have about sex, that is. lol.

Taking pills before and after
neveragain replied to Sarah.R's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Call me a black sheep, here, but I've never had a problem with even a horse pill looking vitamin. -
Well, that sounds a bit conservative to me. Given the place you're at right now and the toughness to eat certain foods, that could throw your natural vitamin intake down. 8 pills in a 12 hour period is a little over the top, though. Are you sure they're all vitamins?

Cost of Shakes and Liquid diet
neveragain replied to detroitdame75's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I don't like eating processed food much, either, even though my brain is like, "That's the tasty stuff," haha. -
To be on the safe side, we'll err towards 15min before and an hour after. That seems to work the best for me. As far as liquid intake goes, UP IT! You will feel much better all around, too, if you're properly hydrated! :crying:
-
Fully with you on that one! :crying:

I don't know why it is, but every time I see the finale of that show, I always cry. haha. Maybe because it's something I have to identify with. meh. Anyway, Bernie was AWESOME! I'm so happy he won. He totally deserved it.

First of all, the internet shortening of words and/or phrases is LITERALLY (pun intended) the most irritating thing in the world. I would seriously jump through the screen and punch the bastard in the nose. I mean, I know that taking two seconds out of you EVER SO precious life would be the end of the world, I know, but if the need arises to continue doing this, just remember that anyone mildly intelligent who sees this thinks you're an idiot and you are a pointless existence. At your earliest convenience, please shove the word up your rear. Thanks. :-) *Reason: Stupid people who do the U, RU, NMU? thing give me migranes. haha* -

Oh. My. God. *looking for what to say* Holy...wow... and you said I looked good...... Beautiful girl thinks I'm attractive = As Ron White's dog said, "It's gonna be a good day, Tater. It's gonna be a good day." hahahaha. -
Can you? Unless there's another reason why you shouldn't, there shouldn't be a problem. Should you? Small amounts are okay. It's high calorie, so keep that in mind. That and if you eat anything with it your body is going to store all of the calories because your body is ONLY worried about getting rid of the alcohol.

Before and After Lap Band Surgery - PICTURES ONLY
neveragain replied to DeLarla's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Ooooooooookay so I missed the one year post-op bandiversary by two weeks, but I'm down 80lbs and have a lot bigger ego than before, but having just checked the vitals, I'm good. I seriously can't thank you all enough for everything. I couldn't have done it without you guys! :-) Oh, and I know the pictures are flipped. You can thank my computer savviness for that one. haha. -
Well, I'm doing stuff 6 days a week. 3 days of weight training and 3 days of cardio interval training. I will tell you, though, sometimes it is a pain in the arse. Seriously, though, if you really want to see results, don't slack. The more muscle you have or work, the more fat you will burn and ultimately be happy.
