Imus show suspended due to racial comments
neveragain replied to foodstampchamp's topic in Rants & Raves
In my opinion, I just say that people get over their hypersensitive selves and just move on. A shock-jock said something offensive...oooooooh big suprise. It's almost like they call them shock-jocks for a reason...*scratches head* As far as this Rev Al calling him out crap goes, why don't you just call the whole Black Panther clan out while you're at it. Oh, and don't forget Jesse Jackson. For heaven's sake, get over it. -

Awwww, thanks. Maybe I'm an exception, but I'm not big on sex...mostly because the only thing that can come of it, at this point in my life, is ill-fated. Not to mention, I don't really enjoy it because I can't get over the risk involved, which makes me mildly neurotic for a couple of months afterwards. TMI...perhaps, but what can you do. I'll do my best, though, to give a man's opinion. -
Well, talking about a low carb/high protein diet, there have been numerous studies that have been done which say that everything improves, including diabetes.

I just got my band 2 weeks ago. I drank one of those airborne, which is slightly carbonated and it didn't feel horrible, but it wasn't pleasant either. I'm going to go with no carbonation. Every physician is going to tell you different when it comes to caffeine, but unless you have certain serious physical issues, you should be fine, IMHO.

How soon did everyone start excercising after
neveragain replied to roxy123's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I did a few full-range situps the other night, and I didn't feel anything bad, so I'm going to keep doing them. I'm 2 weeks out. Just be very aware what you feel and if you feel any stretching of the port incision or any one of the, for that matter, stop immediately. -
Looking for a buddy to do the Body-for-life challenge
neveragain replied to tonya66's topic in Fitness & Exercise
I need to do that with you. I have the book and I've started to do it a few times before. I need to watch how hard I work myself now, though, because last time I did the HIIT, I threw up and almost passed out. hahaha. I'll be here for you! Keep us updated! -

I would go for it, but that's just my $0.02. :clap2: -
A thread for Single Bandsters

As horrible as it may seem, I definitely agree that the best way to get over someone is to get someone new and I've employed this with just about every breakup I've ever had. Here's the problem I see with that, though. It's quite difficult for me to get someone else right off the bat. It takes work and a little bending of my "rules", which ultimately ends up in disaster, which, oddly enough, begins the whole cycle again. I'm actually inbetween, at the moment, and I kind of like it or may be just getting used to it. I just get lonely for affection. Not sex, but affection. It really starts to get to me as it is starting to now, upon further review... I apologize for the sullen rant, there was a girl that I was dating that was perfect for me and I somehow screwed it up. How, you ask? I have no idea. Such is life, though, I guess. -
Face on the belly...that's a new one. lmao Well, I figured I would get on the scale this morning, since it's been a week or so and I'm down another 3 pounds. I think I can get used to 3 pounds per week. haha.

I want to run!!!!!!! Once I drop another 10lbs or so, I'm going to start running. It's a little hard on my gout ridden feet at this point. Stupid gout...

Can a mod delete this stuff before some unsuspecting person clicks on it and somehow gets a virus? :omg: :phanvan

Anything twisting is great and more effective for a lot of reasons. Think about it. You're using most of your core muscles in the front AND back, rather than the regular situp, which just uses the front and maybe a little oblique, depending on how you do it.

After 12 days, 16.5 lbs, and a belt notch, I'm feeling good. :bandit I got a little cocky last night and took a few bites of pizza that made me PB for the first time, but other than that I'm a good little bandit.

Hungry before and after?
neveragain replied to gettin skinny's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine wasn't too bad either way. I definitely wasn't too hungry for a 3 or 4 days post-op. -
Crushing Meds right after surgery
neveragain replied to susansilver's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I haven't heard either. In fact, I was told the opposite. They told me that taking any pill should be just fine without swallowing it. -
I do walk 2 or 3 miles a day, but maybe that's not enough? :phanvan Does or did anyone have trouble getting in 1300 or 1400 calories right off the bat? I'm having a heck of a time. Oh, one more question, do you have to follow the not drinking 30min before meals and 1hr after when you're on mushies?
-
I agree with the getting tested for diabetes. There is no reason why eating what you did should have spiked you that high. I would do it ASAP, in fact. The sooner you know, the sooner you can get it in control.

Maybe it's just me, but Isopure has a vile aftertaste to it. hahaha. Naturally, though, I stocked up on them pre-op, so I have quite a few left. Bottoms up! lol. -
Ok, so my recovery thus far has been relatively painless, but I have to say, those shooting shoulder pains are very bad. I've been lucky to have no loose stool or anything incredibly unpleasant except for said shoulder pains. A small piece of the surgical incision glue came off this morning and it kind of freaked me out, but I'm sure it's nothing to worry about. Only other thing is trying to differe between hunger and gas pains is difficult. I'm down 13ish pounds since pre-op, so I'm pretty optimistic! Oh, and HI everybody!!!!!!!
-
I've been living off of Isopure drinks, blended cream soups, and protein shakes for the past few days in my full liquid phase. Thank GOD I'll be done with that today...YAY for mushies!!!!!

So far, I'm loving the dissolve tabs, but I haven't tried the chewable. So far I'm down 10lbs, so I know what you mean about thinking it's water weight. The gas pain for me has been coming and going, but what they say is totally correct. The more you move the better!

...or some crazy gas in my stomach that won't freaking go away and I'm dying here. It isn't the CO2, either. Oh yes, I have the rest of the day on clear liquids and then I start on full liquids. Any suggestions?

I had surgery on wednesday and these hunger pangs are killing me! Does ANYONE have any suggestions? Good luck to everyone!
