New Kid Trying To Get On Track
mwrarr replied to gagirl0583's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
1st of all...welcome! &...we'll be your cheer section!!! Stick to the diet. The weight will fly off when you're not looking, especially with the Protein shakes & non-starchy veggies. Celebrate your NSV s & ignore the naysayers. Just stay on track & you'll make your next 15#. You still have a couple weeks, so just don't let the nag voice in your head mess with you. -
how many pounds at 5 weeks?
mwrarr replied to SunshineGirlG's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congrats!!! -
It'll be here before you know it. I'm in 9 days & it seems so close all of a sudden. This site is generally really good for info & support. Glad you found us!!
-
I hear ya there! you'll be fine. When is your surgery?
-
I'm also the 27th! & very ready! I didn't have to lose anything before but couldn't gain a lot. I ended up adding abt 10# over the course of my journey, but that was a 15 mo trek, and my BMI is still in the safe zone, so they aren't worried about it. Plus, with the liquid diet, I've now dropped 13#, so I'm hoping to have a nice surprisingly lower weight for my surgeon when I get there.

My favorite reply comes with a serious, interested facial expression. "Thanks for the tip, Captain Obvious!" Usually shuts them up.
-
I'm a cook, & I'll be out at least 4 weeks due to the weight lifting restriction.
-
You'll get there!! I jumped for 15 months. Here's to a speedy process!
-
I'm curious how you made out. I'm also on Yaz & was originally told to stop taking it, but since my last surgeon appt in November they've apparently changed their mind. At my pre-op appt last Wed, the PA at my surgeon's office said I don't have to stop taking it, but that since I won't be able to take it for about 3-4 says due to being in the hospital I need to use a back up method for the rest of the month. A little confused, but whatever lol
-
Hahaha!!! Good for you, doll.
-
Start pushing water. It probably won't mess up your blood work, but it could slightly dehydrate you. Assuming you're not on a pre-op restrictive diet, or meds, I'd say it's probably ok.

Hooooooly moooooooly, lady!! Awesome! What's your secret?
-
My process has been 15+ months... but I had some snags along the way. I had to do 3 months of supervised weight loss, psych, cardio and gastro appts, ultrasound, and then had to mess around with insurance. I'm finally set for 3/27.

I have a goal outfit, but it's like a "summer goal", n not end goal. I'm currently a size 22 & this outfit is 18. I like the idea of a "little black dress" goal sitting in my closet...
-
I'm also March 27th & have been on liquids since March 6th (3 wks). The 1st 2 days were the worst. I'm a cook & work 70-ish hours/week & on top of being tired, I found my general energy level was down, but my hunger & blood sugar is actually more stable. Down 13# in 10 days, so all in all...
-
I have to do 2 wks of liquids, but I did an extra week, for a couple reasons. I'm 11 days away now!!! very ready one minute & freaking internally the next
