I hate hormones. They make me sick. Not to mention the weight gain. I personally will take a few days out of the month to have a normal cycle like we're supposed to over hormones any day...which was one of the biggest reasons I picked the copper Paraguard over the Mirena.

Lol I lost my strings 3 days after my IUD was inserted. That was almost 7 years ago. I get ultrasounds every once in a while to make sure its still in place...

This was taken about a week before surgery (1/30/13). I wanted some good comparison shots. I also have some of body shots in my undies, but I'd rather not show those! -
Congrats on the new bundle of joy.

I drink Syntax Nectar and so far the vanilla bean is my fav. I bought a huge container at The Vitamin Shoppe for 41 dollars. Its lasted both my hubby and I for over two months now. I tried the Unjury and its alright. I've also tried Costcos brand and I hate them. Its really a matter of finding what you like. If I forget, or am on the go, I drink Muscle Milk. Its higher in cals but its ok every once in a while. Tastes yummy. -
Took my before pictures - what a horrible eye opener!

I completely am right there with you. I had pre pics taken in just bra and panties and I about died when I saw them. Then a month post op I have lost 20 pounds and a couple pant sizes. Took more pics. Was still shocked. I feel so much lighter and my clothes are bigger, but I look almost exactly the same as before. I'll have to do a side by side to really see a difference. -
Oh good! I hope that will help you. Intersting that they connect it to your apnea.

You guys are losing wonderfully. 28 pounds is not something to frown upon my dear. I'm down 20 pounds thus far. 7 pre op, 13 post op. One fill. Everything is going great. Surgery was 1/30. -
This morning I gingerly stepped on the dreaded scale, and much to my delight, it showed me I was down 20 pounds since pre-op! Of course I did a happy dance, and then turned around and checked myself out in the mirror. Something I haven't done for a while. To my amazement, I noticed I lost a roll in my back. I went from two to one! I'm starting to get a waist back again, and I feel lighter. Then, to add to my reverent state of mind, my husband comes up to me telling me his underware is like hanging off of him, and he needs to go buy new underware. We are both obese, and since I've started this journey, he's been by my side, and doing well for himself too. He's lost now 18 pounds I think? He said to me, "When you're doing good, I'm doing good too." Awe.

Its under your profile, there should be like a tab for ticker. I too started in October with a psyc eval, physical therapst, nurse practitioner, ECG, sleep study, full blood work, meeting the surgeon, and having 3 months of nutritionist visits. Then after that, wait for my insurance approval from Cigna which only took a couple days then I was scheduled for surgery. Once that happened, I only had to do the class and blood work.

I have not once crushed my meds and I had no issues. I do take then with juice or applesauce so they go down easier. If they are meds you can crush and want to crush, then put them in applesauce. Thats what my mom used to do for me since I've had hard times swallowing pills.

band hadn't been filled yet!!!

From what I've seen, 4 to 6 weeks post op seems to be the most common times for fills. After the first, its usually between 2 to 4 weeks. Call and see if they aren't willing to check you out sooner. I had to do a barium swallow, see the nutritionist, physical therapist and then final approval from my physician 4 weeks post op before she'd let me have a fill. To make sure I was mentally and physically capable of having a fill. I really didn't need one, but I thought it wouldn't hurt and that maybe I was getting close to that point of feeling hungry again. -
Very uncomfortable!!

So the surgeon put some saline in during surgery? Okay, when they do that, sometimes its a bit much right out of surgery. You're already very swollen and then add the extra tight band, of course you're going to feel like pooh. Make sure to stay on top of your meds, antinausea meds and stool softners. Walk around to prevent blood clots, pneumonia and to get the gas out from surgery. But also know your limits and rest. Becareful when getting in and out of bed. Roll if you can instead of sitting up. Honestly, it really bothers me when the surgeons get aggressive with fills, especially during surgery. Your stomach and esophagus needs to heal first. I was 4 weeks post op before my physical gave me a small fill. Some people can handle it I guess. Best of luck! -
I hope so! Make sure to take it and keep the acid to a minimum that could really hurt you in the long run.
-
Barium swallow is what its called. Good luck!

Have them check for gallstones especially if it gets worse after you eat anything.

I felt a small poke and that was it. She had me put my hands behind my heard and do a small crunch then she felt around for the port, then poke! No problem at all. She said liquids for two days.
-
Mine was at my 4 week post op. She offered it again 2 weeks later, but I really don't need it, so I told her another 4 weeks would be fine. It really depends on your surgeon.

Didn't crush any of my pills and I was fine. Took them with juice or applesauce so they went down easier.
