Give it time. Your body needs to get adjusted. It was used to a certain caloric intake for a long time and now its in shock. I can't say not to weigh yourself a lot cuz I weigh every morning so I can see if what I ate the day before is affecting me negatively or not. I would rather weigh once a week but I'm a perfectionist and have issues lol

Do you burp a lot?
babykins529 replied to solson8201's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't 'burp" anymore, its more like this weird noise lol that is close to a burp. We call it a hicburp in my house now and my kids think it the best new sound. -
How soon does surgery happends after approval lfrom. Indurances
babykins529 replied to cary007's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was approved 4 days after submitting to Cigna insurance and my surgeons office was right on top on it and offered my a date that week, but my work asked if I could give them a two weeks heads up so I scheduled it two weeks after approval. -

Did anyone NOT have to do the preop diet?
babykins529 replied to Wanna-Be-Healthy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Didn't have a required pre op diet. Guessy doctor didn't feel my liver size would be an issue. I was seeing a nutritionist for 3 months prior and we were working on changing my habits before sugery so it wasn't too much of a shock. I lost 7 pounds prior. I just had to have the typical liquid 24 hrs prior to sugery. -
I felt my port fold/bend when I bent down
babykins529 replied to HelloGoodbye's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I bent down a week post op and my stomach fat flopped over my jeans and the port went with it. I cried out in pain it hurt so bad. I was sore for a week. Needless to say, I was super careful after that. I was scared I popped the stitches that connected the port to my muscle but takes a lot more then that I guess. -

Diet and expectations
babykins529 replied to jmerrick04's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Its just a pinch if you have someone who is skilled in giving fills. No worries. I just make my usual stuff (I was never a bad eater just ate a lot and grazed) so I can't help with the recipes. -
I'm not gonna lie...I'm so embarrassed...but I'm not gonna lie.
babykins529 replied to BekahC79's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It will get better in time. Don't keep that crap in your house if its too tempting. You shouldn't be eating that a week out anyway. Give your poor body a chance to heal. Its not a miracle. Its a tool. It was surgery and the port was stitched to your muscle of course its going to hurt. Mine did for two weeks but every day it got better. Just keep your chin up and take pain meds. -
rash near incisions
babykins529 replied to drehn88's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It will get itchy as it heals. Ever notice when you start scabbing from a scratch that it itches? Mine itched as it healed too. -

Stairs after surgery?
babykins529 replied to rbmk14's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Was never told to avoid stairs. I have a two story house and I climbed the stairs hours after surgery with no issues. Took it easy of course. No lifting more then 10 pounds for 4 weeks of course. -
4 mounths post Op and Gas like Pain
babykins529 replied to Chad cool's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When you change your diet, you can change the natural flora in your digestive system. It could be a number of things. Make sure your not constipated. Are you eating yogurt? Or have you changed anything drastic in your diet? If anything, make an appointment to see your band doc and or talk with your nutritionist. I wish you the best. -

babykins529 replied to darbymc23's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had those burps that weren't actually burps too. And I still have the shoulder pain. Never felt nausea but I took my anti nausea meds all the time. It goes away... -

Pain in left shoulder??
babykins529 replied to petemac85's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I still have mine and I'm 3 months post op today. Everyone varies. Some don't ever have it. Some have it a couple days or weeks. And some of the more unlucky ones get it permanently. Usually caused by over eating. Its different in my case though. I will get it for no reason and nothing helps. Hope you aren't like me. -

Nooooo. Not on your tummy. The gas pain is not in your tummy, its in your left shoulder blade. You can use heat there but not where your stiches are. A lot of people get confused on that. Cool on stiches, warmth on shoulder blade. Ask your doc, they will confirm this.

My doctor never touched on the subject, so for me, it was when I felt comfortable to do it...and finding a position to do it in. Which was NOT missionary lol. Hint hint. It was 4 days post op for me.
